Hello,

My computer is a mess. I ran Spybot S&D numerous times in safe mode, I removed/fixed everything except "command service", also that "Virtumonde Virus" seems as if it is fixed, but continues to show up on the next scan. Anyhow here are the two log files requested, thankyou in advance.

Hello rudyum1
Welcome to Safer Networking.

Please read Before You Post (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288)

Your other posts have been archived , just reply to this thread only and not start any new threads please. :)

I need you to do three things for me.

1. Download VundoFix (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4 ) to your desktop

Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log in a reply to this thread.

Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

2. Download ComboFix from Here (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) or Here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) to your Desktop.

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post the Combofix log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

3.
This is important, do this before you post a HJT log
C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe<-- Right click on Hijackthis.exe ( looks like a man with a spyglass )and rename it to Scanner.exe

I need to see the Vundofix log, the Combofix log and a new HJT log renamed.

Your doing well but still more to do, you have to be very careful what you download and the sites you visit, this is one of the infections you still have. Do you do any online banking?????
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/Microsoft_Office-14009.html

I dont see Bearshare on your system except for your trusted zone, thats one program that brings this garbage with it, if you do have it and its not showing on your log I strongly urge you to uninstall it via the Add Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

Open HijackThis > Do a System Scan Only, close your browser and all open windows, the only program or window you should have open is HijackThis, check the following entries and click on Fix Checked.

1. Please download The Avenger (http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/avenger.zip) by Swandog46 to your Desktop. Click on Avenger.zip to open the file Extract avenger.exe to your desktop

2. Copy all the text contained in the code box below to your Clipboard by highlighting it and pressing (Ctrl+C):

Files to Delete:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\msoff.exe

Folders to delete:

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

3. Now, start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon on your desktop.
Under "Script file to execute" choose "Input Script Manually".
Now click on the Magnifying Glass icon which will open a new window titled "View/edit script"
Paste the text copied to clipboard into this window by pressing (Ctrl+V).
Click Done
Now click on the Green Light to begin execution of the script
Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.
4. The Avenger will automatically do the following:
It will Restart your computer. ( In cases where the code to execute contains "Drivers to Unload", The Avenger will actually restart your system twice.)
On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.

I cant thank you enough for helping me with this

Good Morning,

Your log looks fine and usually when the Avenger does not find a file its gone, but call me paranoid, lets check . With windows still enabled to show all files and folders , look for these files and delete them. I am getting mixed results on the ones you uploaded so keep them in the Recycle Bin for a day or two and you can restore them if needed. If you find them and cant delete them you will have to boot to Safemode to remove them. Please let me know which ones if any where still present and if you where able to remove them.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\msoff.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tdkldnbw.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\jjfewksy.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\qbfznqqe.dll

To Enter Safemode

Go to Start> Shut off your Computer> Restart
As the computer starts to boot-up, Tap the F8 KEY somewhat rapidly,
this will bring up a menu.
Use the Up and Down Arrow Keys to scroll up to Safemode
Then press the Enter Key on your Keyboard

Tutorial if you need it How to boot into Safemode (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial61.html)

What I would do is go to a known clean computer and change all your passwords, dont do it from this system.

Download CCleaner from here (http://www.ccleaner.com/) to clean temp files from your computer.

Double click on the file to start the installation of the program.
Select your language and click OK, then next.
Read the license agreement and click I Agree.
Click next to use the default install location. Click Install then finish to complete installation.
Double click the CCleaner shortcut on the desktop to start the program.
On the "Windows" tab, under "Internet Explorer," uncheck "Cookies" if you do not want them deleted. (If deleted, you will likely need to reenter your passwords at all sites where a cookie is used to recognize you when you visit).
If you use either the Firefox or Mozilla browsers, the box to uncheck for "Cookies" is on the Applications tab, under Firefox/Mozilla.
Click on the "Options" icon at the left side of the window, then click on "Advanced."
deselect "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours."
Click on the "Cleaner" icon on the left side of the window, then click Run Cleaner to run the program.
Caution: It is not recommended that you use the "Issues" feature unless you are very familiar with the registry as it has been known to find legitimate items.
After CCleaner has completed its process, click Exit.

*NOTE* CCleaner deletes EVERYTHING out of temp/temporary folders. If you have anything in a temp folder, back it up or move it to a permanent folder prior to running CCleaner!

Your Java is out of date and leaving your system vulnerable.
Go to your Add-Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall any previous versions of Java (J2SE Runtime Environment)
It should have an icon next to it:
http://users.telenet.be/bluepatchy/miekiemoes/images/javaicon.jpg
Select it and click Remove.
Reboot your system.
Then go to the Sun Microsystems (http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp) and install the update
Java Runtime Environment Version 6 Update 3 <--This is what you need to download and install.
If you chose the online installation, it will prompt you to run the program.
If you chose the offline installation, you will be prompted to save the file and you can run it from wherever you saved it.
Then after install you can verify your installation here Sun Java Verify (http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp)
I like to to do the offline installation and save the setup file in case I may need it in the future

How are things running now ?

Things are running a lot better.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\tdkldnbw.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\jjfewksy.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\qbfznqqe.dll

were still present, and I removed them without any problems.

I updated my Java and ran the cleaner like you said. Everything seems to be running fine. Although there is still an exclamation point on top of my Symantec anti-virus icon on the bottom of the screen.

I dont know if its too early to ask. But which of these programs(ones weve been using) should I uninstall or delete or should I keep them all. Also, what would you recommed to keep this thing clean.

Right now I use Ad-aware se personal, Spybot S&D, and SpywareBlaster with Symantec as my anti-virus. How often should I run and update these programs, and watch else should I use. Thankyou so much for all your help and patience.

one more thing I have a program called my way search assistant1 on my add/remove programs list, Im not sure what it is, but it does not give me the option to remove it. Im not sure what I should do about that.

Glad things are better :bigthumb:

Although there is still an exclamation point on top of my Symantec anti-virus icon on the bottom of the screen.Sometimes this happens if something needs attention , like running Live Update, or a full scan or maybe it picked up cookies that need to be removed.

CCleaner is yours to keep, I run it on my own system at least once a week.

Combofix and Vundofix you can drag to the trash because they are only used for certain infections, there not programs to run on a regular basis and if needed in the future there will be an updated version.

You should run the scan with the programs you have about once a week or so, always make sure you update them first.

MyWay Search Assistant comes preloaded on Dell computers, or it used to I should say, it kind of falls somewhere in the Gray Area. You can remove these with HJT.

Malware Complaints (http://malwarecomplaints.info/index.php)
Are you mad ? I mean really mad, seething mad, so mad your ready to spit, mad that you have taken your hard earned dollars to buy a computer only to have some Miscredents, Dirt Bags and Cyber Criminals install a malicious program on your computer without your knowledge or consent. You can post your complaint at the above site. If you live in the U.S.A. you can also report your grievance to your State Attorney Generals Office and the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Consumer Protection.

How did I get infected in the first place ? Read these links and find out how to prevent getting infected again.

Here are some free programs to install, don't leave home without them

Spybot Search and Destroy 1.5 (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/)
Check for Updates/ Immunize and run a Full System Scan on a regular basis.

Spyware Blaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) It will prevent most spyware from ever being installed.

Spyware Guard (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareguard.html) It offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.

Win Patrol (http://www.winpatrol.com/download.html) This program will warn you when any changes are being made to your system and give
you the option to deny the change.

IE-Spyad (http://forums.windowsforum.org/index.php?showtopic=6640)
IE-Spyad places over 4000 web sites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads
(cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.

Firefox 2.0 (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/) It has more features and is a lot more secure than IE. It is a very easy and
painless download and install, it will no way interfere with IE, you can use them both.

Zone Alarm (http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fid,7228,00.asp) Here is a free Firewall from Zone Labs, I
wouldn't access the internet without it.

Glad we could help.

Safe Surfn
