Having some problems any help would be much appreciated. CA gave up on me after unchecking my system restore to remove the above virus from my restore folder. The virus keeps reappearing in temp internet and program files despite Spybot, EZ Armor, Windows defender and Ad aware removing the threat. Here is my Hijack This file, I was unable to start in safe mode:

Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information.
"BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

You are infected, please follow these directions.

1) Kaspersky first: Delete the files in RED

C:\Program Files\c_setup.exe
C:\Program Files\msc.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\BIT1E2.tmp
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\favset.exe

2) Thanks to LonnyBJones and anyone else who helped with this fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lonny/Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your Desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
Once the desktop loads post the text that will open (report.txt)

3) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

4) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

5) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

6) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:
Use your search function to see if you can locate any of these files, probably in System32 folder. Delete them if you find them.

UserSp1.exe
SYSTRAV.exe
avpmondll.exe
WinInitDll.exe
zantu.exe

7) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Post the report.txt from fixwareout and a new HJT log, let me know how the computer is performing.

Thanks for returning your information, you may delete Fixwareout, it did it's job. ATF-Cleaner is a nice small tool that does a good job. You may keep it if you wish. I suggest you keep HJT, some infections block the download. Here is a good tutorial to help you learn what the program can do.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial42.html

This is a nasty infection involving lowlife hackers from the Ukraine, see this:
http://whois.domaintools.com/85.255.115.44

Chances are they were after information that could be converted into $$, keep a close eye on any accounts with information on the computer and change all passwords. Here is some information:
http://www.dslreports.com/faq/10451

I suggest you run a new Kaspersky scan to make sure it is clean, and that you update and use all programs you have onboard, your Antivirus program, Windows Depender and Ad-Aware and Spybot. I will post closing information now so you can benefit from the expertise of these security experts. Let me know if I can do more.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/tips/mcgill1.mspx

Some good information for you:

Here is some great information from experts in this field that will help you stay clean and safe online.

I ran the Kaspersky scan last night and it came back clean, but when I started the computer this morning I got a message from EZ Trust Armor saying that it was waiting for TrueVector Internet Monitor to initialise, and I am now unable to access the internet through either Explorer or Firefox. Is this related to anything that I installed to clean up as I havent removed anything yet? I also havent followed the system restore steps that you outlined yet. Thanks for all the other information it was very useful. Sorry to be asking for more help.

I fixed the internet problem (I just remembered that at 4:30 this morning I got up and unplugged the cable to be on the safe side!!!!...sleepwalking I guess!), but not familiar with the True Vector Internet Monitor.....thanks again for all your help gettin gme this far.

You must have access to another computer. I will guess EZTrust is supplied free with your ISP. TrueVector Is part of the ZoneAlarm, see this information:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=TrueVector+Internet+Monitor+&btnG=Google+Search
I also use ZA free and once in a while something will not load causing issues. I restart the computer and that normally takes care of the problem. If it does not, I suggest you contect whoever is supplying you with ZA.

Keep me posted
Hope this helps...Phil

Yes EZ Trust is suppied free, I didnt know I had Zone Alarm, but as long as its not something it shouldn't be thats fine! Really appreciate the quick and informative responses, you've been a great help.
