My Control Panel is gone :(
When I right-click My Computer and go to Properties it tells me:
"This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."
Also, when I startup I get an error msg saying something about SYSTEM32/PRINTER.EXE is missing.
I've done scans and tried to remove using Ad-Aware, Spybot, SUPERAntiSpyware and UnHackMe. But none of them can get my Control Panel back.

Thanks for the feedback, but since I see no Kaspersky scan it looks like you missed the instruction pinned to the top of the forum and posted above for you.
You may wait on the Kaspersky scan until I ask for it, HJT cannot show us everything and the scan shows malware if it is hidden from HJT.

I have other tools available to to remove this trojan, but since Smitfraud is often hidden, I would like to check for that infection first. If you still need help, please do this.

Note: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool". It is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Hi pskelley,
Thanks so much for your reply.
I tried to use the Smitfraudfix that you said and when I double click it, it creates a Smitfraud folder but does not run the application where I can choose option 1. It opens a black system32\cmd.exe screen for a few seconds and then disappears.
So instead I have run the Kaspersky scan, here are the results:

Please post only what I request. Note: process.exe <<< your AV has probably blocked an important componant of Smitfraudfix and we must get it to run. Delete anything you downloaded and give this link a try. If you get ANY prompts from any program about allowing anything at the time of the download, make sure to do so.

I downloaded SmitfraudFix.exe again from the link you provided. No prompts came up while I downloaded it. I closed AVG and Spybot in the taskbar. But Process.exe still closes after a few seconds before it gets to the options menu.
Maybe Windows Firewall is blocking it but I can't get to Windows Firewall because if I try to open Windows Security Alerts in the taskbar it tells me: "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." For the same reason I can't get to Add/Remove Programs because my Control Panel is gone.

It is tough to help if you can not run the tools to remove the infections. I will do what I can, without it.

Download ComboFix from Here (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) or Here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) to your Desktop.
Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall
After you post those logs, try to run Smitfraudfix again.

The guys that write these fixes do cross over each other a little, but in this case combofix is NOT finding and removing junk that Smitfraudfix will. Please delete everything and try this:
http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.exe <<< click on that link and save that file to your DESKTOP. If you get any prompts, allow the download!
Once you have done that, follow these directions:
Now read and follow these direction exactly:
Reboot your computer in Safe Mode (before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually)
Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select 2 and hit Enter to delete infect files.
You will be prompted: Do you want to clean the registry ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.
The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found): Replace infected file ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to restore a clean file.
A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt
C:\rapport.txt <<< post that report and a HJT log.

Please, Reboot and Run SmitfraudFix option 2 once again.
Then do this:
1) Turn off TeaTimer, it will block the change we need to make:

2) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"
3) Run Clean Manager:

4) Remove combofix, combofix backups and Smitfraudfix completely from your computer.
5) Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner
You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.
Then post it here all I need to see is the Kaspersky scan report.
