can't get rid of adssite and firefox has errors now

I downloaded a program that was supposed to be something else and it installed adssite. I ran spybot s&d along with adaware and norton antivirus. I also deleted 2 files in system 32 called adssite-remove.exe i think and rightonads-remove.exe. I got those from another post on here i saw. I still get popups and firefox does not work. Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart and post a new HJT log and Kaspersky scan. Let me know how the computer runs now.

Firefox still shuts down almost immediately... It says firefox has encountered an error and needs to shut down... Internet Explorer works and that is how I'm checking this post but I would much rather use Firefox... I accidentally deleted the Temporary Interent Files folder because I read the "Delete contents of the Temp folder" first so i just created a new one and renamed it the same thing. Will that work? Here is the new HJT log... I will post the new Kaspersky log next

UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Once you reboot the next Kaspersky scan should be clean if you followed the directions. I do not need to see a clean scan.

All the system restore stuff is gone but there are still a couple showing up in Norton... When I go to through windows explorer there is no ...all users/application data folder... i can find /application data under a personal profile but there is no Symantec file in there... to delete the Norton files i opened the program and found the quarantine folder and deleted them there but they are still showing up in the Kaspersky scan... I guess these must be the problem with Firefox because it still shuts down after a uninstalled and reinstalled it... could the viruses corrupt the extensions that i have installed for firefox and that is what is causing it to shut down?

OK so i searched for the folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Norton AntiVirus\Quarantine

I was able to find it and I deleted what was in there. So that problem is solved. I would have thought that that would have fixed the firefox problem since after I deleted the Quarantine folder the computer came up clean so I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox but it still closed due to an error. Thanks for your help so far... Any ideas on that last problem??

I was also able to find "browser optimizer adssite" in add/remove programs... it had me enter a number to uninstall it so hopefully it stays gone. The kaspersky scans are coming up clean so thanks for your help.

Sound good:bigthumb: if you want me to look for other malware (if something is running you do not know) in your uninstall list, post it like this:

Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.
(You may edit out Microsoft, Hotfixes, Security Update for Windows XP, Update for Windows XP and Windows XP Hotfix to shorten the list)
