I have read the Before you Post, I am getting help from Little Eagle, this is just a new thread he requested for the second computer in my home.

Tap F8 when starting When you get to the selection screen you should have a choice of options one of them should be last known good configuration.

I had actually figured that out this morning before work, just didn't have time to post a reply before leaving for work. I tried it, and decided to start a new post so it would be easier to figure out which computer we are talking about for 1, and also because it should be a different post as you mentioned for a different computer.

This is the blue screen message I got:

STOP: c0000218 {Registry File Failure}
The registry cannot load the hive (file):
\SystemRoot\System32\Config\SOFTWARE
or its log or alternate.
It is corrupt, absent, or not writable.

Beginning dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete.
Contact your system administrator or
technical support group for further
assistance.

All this within 2 seconds of choosing the options for last known good configuration.

I know he is infected, but I also know my hard drive is corrupted...

Looks like it's time for a new hard drive and a reinstall of the OS :sad:
The register looks like it is to far gone.
