Looks like Smitfraud, we will run a tool to find out. I also see Vundo leftovers and do not know if you removed it completely or not, so we will need to look at that. This will take a little time.

Search:
Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select 1 and hit Enter to create a report of the infected files. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt
Note: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool". It is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

OK thanks, that found stuff the first one did not. Follow these directions now:

Clean:
Reboot your computer in Safe Mode (before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually)
Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select 2 and hit Enter to delete infect files.
You will be prompted: Do you want to clean the registry ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.
The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found): Replace infected file ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to restore a clean file.
A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt
Optional:
To restore Trusted and Restricted site zone, select 3 and hit Enter.
You will be prompted: Restore Trusted Zone ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to delete trusted zone.
Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE-SPYAD, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE-SPYAD, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.
Post the C:\rapport.txt and a new HJT log.
NOTE: the search found a corrupted Hosts file so the next report may be very long, that being the case you can edit out the Hosts items like this: 127.0.0.1
just let me know that you did it.

Thanks for returning your information, let's look at the Kaspersky scan first:
You will need to show hidden files and folders to be sure you see the junk:
How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.
If you are going to use Limewire, chances are you are going to get infected. Since I do not use it, I can only guess on what is infected and will highlite it. Go there and delete these files.

Uninstalled Limewire turbo 5.4.2.0 and deleted any folders left over.
I have deleted both versions of Smitfraudfix (couldn't see if there was a uninstall function).
I checked for the Video Add-on before and after running ATF Cleaner but it was not there.
I have deleted the remains of Symantec - from add/remove software and deleted the folder at the location you mentioned.
I have run HJT and followed your instructions.
I have run the Kaspersky Online Scanner and unfortunately it is not clean and my report is below:

Thanks for the feedback, it hard to make them understand how easy it is to get infected anymore. My suggestion is to either purchase the games or play them online, the "free" games you install rarely are.
I requested a last HJT log, make sure you post it, looking at your Kaspersky scan, most items are infected System Restore files which we will clean soon.

Looks like the Rest are in System Restore, once you delete the Limewire stuff, then restart and do this:
System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

I have gone to the locations re Limewire turbo but can't find the paths you have mentioned (I had uninstalled it before, as mentioned in my last reply). I don't know if there is somewhere else I can go to delete the traces you mention.
I have made the new systems restore point. I guess I made have to redo this if there are still traces of Limewire Turbo...
Will run another Kaspersky scan and revert if there is anything still on it.

Thanks for the HJT log and the feedback. I see no malware in that log, it's possible uninstalling Limewire turbo removed the junk and it is no longer in a Kaspersky scan. If it should appear in the next Kaspersky scan, make sure you have all hidden files and folders enabled:

AVG Anti-Spyware is a good program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

Gosh that was a fast reply! Still working on the online scanner but looks to be clean so far.
I have noted that I should delete AVG anti-spyware once the trial period is over.
I have the full MacAfee Security Centre on my PC this should be sufficient shouldn't it, anway?
Believe that one of your colleagues advised me that XosftSpySE is not quite safe - is that so?

Personally I think:
AVG anti-spyware: updates are free as is the program (as a on demand scan) but having it running and using resources after the trial is a waste. I keep the program, turn it off totally and run in once in a while as a alternative check.
XosftSpySE: I would not have in on any computer I own.
I used McAfee for about eight years, recently their progam has gotten as hugh as Symantec's and slows the computer considerably. They said I had to update and could no longer use VSO so I dumped it from the two computers I was running it on and installed AVG Antivirus 7.5 free from Grisoft.
