Hello there,
I have a nasty on my HD - which disabled my bitdefender and will now not allow me to install any anti-virus/ anti trojan (of which i have tried several now). The minute the exes are created by the installation they are mysteriosuly deleted. I think it mya be Bagle or something but heres my log and maybe you can tell me exactly what it is?

Unzip it and start GMER.exe
Click the rootkit-tab and click scan.
Once done, click the Copy button.
This will copy the results to clipboard.
Paste the results in your next reply.

Hello there,
I think it is something akin to Bagle, as it had deleted my safe mode reg key. I can now get into safe mode using AVZ antivirus option which reinstalls the reg safe mode key - but still i have some blumming thing lurking about that auto deletes/prevents most anti-virus software i try and install. I have done several online scans (yesterday and today) - and some things were found and all deleted but still it persists, like the swamp thing....
Anyway, I have run gmer - the log was so long that it was too big to post (should i have unchecked some of those options?) I haveuploaded it here:- http://homepage.ntlworld.com/wisewoman/gmer%20log.log

Yes, that is rootkit bagle, a variant of well-known bagle.

No, gmer log is long when rootkits are present :)
Run gmer.exe
Click the tab called Processes and click the Safe... button. The computer will reboot and the Gmer screen will open.
Click Files... and browse to the following file:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\srosa.sys
Now click Delete
Also do that with these files:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\hidr.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\wintems.exe
Now click the Services tab. Click the entries in red one by one with your right mouse button and click Delete... Answer Yes to all the warning windows.
When you've removed all the Service entries in red, reboot your computer.
Re-run gmer

Open HijackThis, click do a system scan only and checkmark these:

Close all windows including browser and press fix checked.
Reboot.
Please do an online scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner (http://www.kaspersky.com/downloads/kws/kavwebscan.html). You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
The program will launch and then start to download the latest definition files.
Once the scanner is installed and the definitions downloaded, click Next.
Now click on Scan Settings
In the scan settings make sure that the following are selected:
o Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
+ Extended (If available otherwise Standard)
o Scan Options:
+ Scan Archives
+ Scan Mail Bases
Click OK
Now under select a target to scan select My Computer
The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run. Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
Now click on the Save as Text button
Save the file to your desktop.
Copy and paste that information in your next post.
Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the accept button of the license, click on the Zoom tool located at the right bottom of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license accepted, reset to 100%.

My Kapersky came out too long to post - but i went over it and i knew what everything was - i have a few things archived away in my huge mail DBX's - but i'm not worried as I never open them. There was also a lot of locked objects - but again, it was because i was using them last night. I couldnt see anything else that stood out and looked suspicious.

You can edit out all lines with object locked skipped, size should reduce significantly :)
