exit when "checking for problems"

Using 1.4b2 with latest detection rules just after clicking "Check for problem" spybot just writes "Unknown" on the status bar and the just exits. Not really a crash since it just exits.

Can I in someway generate a logfile or something?

1.4 final is out.1.4b2 is an older beta.You might want to try uninstalling the old beta,and try 1.4,see if you have any better luck with that.
