I was trying to fix a computer for a friend the yesterday. I figured I would give the new Spybot 1.5 a shot. The scan was executed in Safe-Mode and reported many infections (about 60). Here is the problem, after rebooting the machine, it crashes with stop error 0x0000007B. The user is [currently] unable to find his system disk and I'm unsure of what I should do to make the machine bootable again.
I would appreciate your help in saving my skin from said friend's mother. :D:

I see that I didn't make this clear enough in my first post. The machine does not boot at all, be it Safe Mode or normally. I forgot to mention that the OS was Windows XP SP2.

From the link you provided, I found my way here (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545/), I plan on giving this a shot. I will report back. :)
Edit: I re-read the steps in the process of restoring the registry, I find this snippet somewhat alarming.
Warning Do not use the procedure that is described in this article if your computer has an OEM-installed operating system. The system hive on OEM installations creates passwords and user accounts that did not exist previously. If you use the procedure that is described in this article, you may not be able to log back into the recovery console to restore the original registry hives.
I do have an Ophcrack (http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/) CD, couldn't this be used to crack said password(s)?
