How much RAM do you have installed on this computer?
Right click MyComputer then click Properties. RAM in the bottom right corner.

I'll need to look at the Kaspersky scan ressult to make sure nothing is hiding from HJT but to start with I see this:

1) You are running two antivirus programs at the same time and this is not a good thing. They conflict with each other and you will be less safe than if you ran one good program and maintained it properly. Uninstall one, update the one you keep and run a complete system scan, post for me any item that can't be removed, the complete name and pathway.

Will let you know of exact words if I get it again. Also, once in awhile I get a thing that says Firefox encountered a problem and needs to close. Am guessing that can be fixed by reinstalling firefox.

Thanks for returning your HJT log and the feedback. That should be plenty of RAM, continue to try to get that error message and make sure you post it "word for word" as you receive it.

Looks like you decided to keep Avast4 and I do not see any of Symantec left, good job:bigthumb:

(if you have your own cleaning program you may use it, but this is a good one)

Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

(you may check and remove any R1/R0 line you do not use)

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

(besides that dead item, your HJT log looks very good)

Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

I would like to see the Kaspersky scan to make sure nothing is hiding, if this works for you follow these instructions.

Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.

Then post it here.

There is no need to post a clean scan report.

Here is the error message.

The error itself returns nothing. What exactly are you doing when the error happens. Have a look here:

I rarely use Firefox but I do. When I have any sort of a problem, I uninstall it and reinstall and that usually takes care of the issue.
