View Full Version : Smitfraud?? WinAvXX?? Help, I am locked out!

Hello,

I have tried a lot of things to correct this as well as I believe I have a few more problems. In spybot start up one thing that shows up is WinAvXX which I think is bad. I have ran smitfraud fix, Panda Activescan, and more. Please take a look at HJT log and Kapersky log after this I guess..Kaspersky log is to long. It skipped a lot and showed a java trojan and more. All help is very much appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

All advice given is taken at your own risk.

Those are symptoms of Smitfraud but since all you provided me was a HJT log, that is all I can comment on. When we run Smitfraudfix we look at a report: C:\report.txt which tells us what is present when we search so we know if we should clean with the tool or not.

The only thing I can see in this HJT log is this:

C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\ <<< VERY VERY out of date and likely why you got infection. Download the newest version of Java and uninstall all old version in Add Remove Programs.

I also can not comments on the Kaspersky scan unless you post it.
