How do I track a hacker who is intruding?
My friend was chatting with a guy who works for US government secret service and is a computer intel specialist. She thinks this guy hacked her computer somehow as it turns on by itself when in power save mode for no reason, and the webcam will start up sometimes on its own. I have recovered her computer to the original factory setting which of course deleted all her files (i backed them up) then I uninstalled the webcam and all logitech software. The cam STILL comes on, and the computer STILL comes on when in the screensaver or power saver mode. The cam coming on freaks us out totally, how can it still come on when I uninstalled it?
I scanned with Spybot, Adaware, Have winpatrol running, AVG antivirus, AVG anti spyware, AVG anti-rootkit, and all come up with nothing, CLEAN. I installed and scanned these all after the recover process.

I am NOT a network administrator, How do I scan the network and computer ports etc to see if someone is accessing the computer? I have heard of "sniffers" that can snif out these connections, and give you the IP address and NIC address for the people who are connected to you. Then the "sniffer" can shut them down and stop it from ever happening again. I again am NOT a network adminitsrator so I do not understand protocol terminology and need something INCREDIBLY user friendly as I downloaded several freeware sniffers and they are only for highly trained network administrators obviously as no layman like us would ever in a million years understand all that network lingo. We need exact step by step instructions how to do this, or user fiendly free software. What is out there? This is obviously becoming a huge problem for many people and strangely NO ONE is addressing it online except to network admin guys it seems cause there is nothing out there after 20+ hours of searching for laymans.
PLEASE HELP!! I also run hijack this and see nothing wrong so far but I can paste the log. I really need to track this IP to make sure it is this guy though or whoever else, thx.
