I took a look to see if there were similiar threads, but there weren't. First, I am not a novice and should know better than to install a new version over an older one but when I perused the FAQ and install info, it seemed the right thing to do!
Wrong, I think! After installing and choosing the options I wanted, plus Immunizing, I rebooted. When my system came up, it took a long time to get everything loaded. Win 2000 Pro SP3. I went to connect my modem and no matter what I did, it would not connect. It hung up on "Registering your computer......."
So, I rebooted again and disabled TeaTimer and S&D Center and that aggravating opnsqr in the processes and all is fine. My question is this: Should I back up and uninstall Spybot S&D and all instances in the Registry? It is always my karma that a lot of stuff gets hung up in the registry and I end up having to clean it out.
Any ideas?
