Hi, i come home from work yesterday and found my pc running at 100% cpu, disconnected fron my hub and it all calmed down. Ran norton anti virus, found and removed 4 trojan.byteverify files... have scanned a few times and all seems to be working. Was wondering if someone could have a look over my highjack this log and tell me if i am really clean.

All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

Hello James, information and questions first.

1) Read and follow the directions pinned to the top of the forum, had you done this, you would not have posted an out of date HJT log and you would have posted a Kaspersky scan so I might be able to see the trojans you describe.

2) Everywhere I look I see Symantec and Yahoo!\NAV. We must have only one antivirus program running, is this the case?

3) Did you purchase this program: AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5\

4) If Norton is not finding the trojan.byteverify files, then it may have removed them. I suggest you use this information to clean your Java cache:

which is where that item usually is. Once clean, update Norton and run a system scan, let me know the results.

5) Once you have read the instructions and updated HJT, if you believe you have a malware problem, post the new HJT log telling me about symptoms. Do not run or post Kaspersky until I request it.

If you feel you no longer have issues, post to let me know so I can close your topic.

Hi, sorry for the incorrect post. I do appear to be clean for now, but with a shared computer it might not be long before i am seeking help.

I do have norton running all the time, although i do have other programes which load up if there are problems. AVG is the free version which i installed the last time i posted on these forums i believe.
