Hi folks


hope I'm doin this right I have a hijack this log posted below, I dunno do ye need the other log I see mentioned in the sticky as well.

anyway I'm trying to clear my bosses home pc of a pretty nasty infection. the symptoms are that explorer crashes constantly. so frequent that you cant do anyting else. the only way I can work on it is by leaving open the microsoft send - Dont send error report

I have noticed a program in the add/remove software menu called XP Entertainments V1.0 . after googling that I found that it is indeed malware and that Spyhunter can remove it for a fee. Its the only page I found referring to this malware so I'm a little suspicious. I googled all the processess in the HJT log and didnt spot anything untoward. I'm hoping one of you good folks can set me on the right path

I think it seems to be fooling spybot in some way cause as far as I can see I have the latest defs installed but when I perform a scan it only takes a mionute and returns that all is well

who knows...maybe its not malware at all, maybe his OS is funked?

thanks for your reply. I read the sticky didnt go into the waiting room for a look. I jst saw two other pages of posts answered today and wondered why mine was over looked. I'm just under a bit of pressure to get this fixed (arent we all!)

anyway no big deal, I'll know in future.
