Can I now recommend SD 1.5 to a friend.

I downloaded some time ago the new SD 1.5

I am now using SD Helloween version which I downloaded to fix the slow start up problems of 1.5

If I recommend Spybot SD to a friend he will download version 1.5 by following the instructions from your main web page. Have the slow start up problems been fixed in this download.

Could you make it easier to obtain the halloween version off the download section in the main page?

Any time frame as to when this will no longer be a beta fix?

Until these are addressed I would stick with version 1.4.

So the latest version of Spybot S&D 1.5 from the main download page is not to be recommended?

As I understand it the bugs (slow start up etc.) have not been addressed in the new version of 1.5 (download from the main web page of Spybot S&D ) and the Helloween version is a beta.

I could send him the link to the Helloween version but I have had some problems with this version also. ( no quick start icon and no progress bar on the update page.)

I am using the Helloween version and can live with the niggles but I do remember the trouble free version 1.4

But as we are always in progress - there is always a beta version.

By the way - 1.4 was not bug free, you remember the TeaTimer bug? *g*

I didn't now there was a bug with 1.4 so I stand corrected. I have only used the forums since downloading 1.5
I will recommend the Helloween version to my friend as I think that Spybot S&D is a great program.

I think it is odd though that the version 1.5 from the main page of Safer Networking is offered for download even though there are known bugs. The slow start up is very bad. However if thats the way it's done, that the way it's done.
