Major pc issues about 2 wks old, tho I'm always armed to the teeth w/ zonealarm, symanetc system works, spybot, spyblaster, windows defender, yahoo anti-spy,ad-aware, windows malicious software removal tool, ms baseline security analyzer, etc etc - all frequently updated, used & all run numerous times since this apparent infection. Nothing whatever has shown except spybot noticing that windows firetwall / ani-virus is disabled ( to prevent conflicts with symantec & zone alarm). In addition online symantec, panda scans & other recommeded scan sites showed nothing.

Because my noticing something was amiss began with ongoing unwanted runaway ' t ' character repetition ( often set off immediatetly following use of the ' e ' key, whereas the ' t ' key otherwise shows nothing when struck - which makets typing ANYthing such a hassle ! ), I also checked electrical, DSL & USB port connections, wall plugs, keyboard and possible mouse issues - nothing.

On 11.21 2 new phenomena emerged : a TurboTax site kept popping up & spybot indicated it had blocked something associated with AGOBO-KU in a system 32 file, I believe.

With regard to the former, I learned it was an offer bundled with Quicken installed by Sony ( my pc is a VAIO ), so I deleted Quicken entirely, incl the turbotax offer & every associatetd file I could find into Norton proteted bin ( where they remain). With regard to the latter, I did a Google search that lead me to this forum.

I have done 2 things I saw administrators suggest here for those seeking assistance:

1 ) ran a Kaspersky scan, which showed " 3 viruses " & " 10 infected sites " . Items highlighted there said " Clicker.JSAgent.h " , "Java.Classloader.ao" and " not-a-virus:win32.keylogger.w " . ( I will post the associated log below.)

& also

2 ) ran did a HJT log ( which I will also post here now )

A BitDefender Online Scan today / 11. 23. 07 showed :

1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune

Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

3) We need to disable your Windows Defender Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.
Open Windows Defender, Click on Tools, General Settings.
Scroll down and uncheck Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.
After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.

4) TeaTimer will block changes we must make, use these instruction to turn it off until we are done.

5) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

6) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

7) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.

REQUESTED FEEDBACK : My system weirdness seemed to have mostly stabilized once i'd gotten rid of the turbotax / quicken / viewpoint & other stuff while waiting . . but the inability to use the ' t ' key remains persistant. . the t key does not activate when struck, yet 95 percent of the time erratically runs with non-stop t's at other times, making typing ( this, for example ) all but impossible . .

this is a Sony VAIO laptop . . SONY pc guy thinks it is not the keyboard since in the beginning it was often intermittant & also bc a string of runaway t's seems to be mostly set off following use of the letter ' e ' . . ( also just realized the percentage sign comes up empty as well . . ) Detvice Manager claims mouse & keyboard, USB ports, etc are fine . . ( New mouse, 4 fan laptop cooler - nothing seems to make any difference )

Grateful for any insight you might offer & thanks Very Much for your efforts thus far, Kelley !

I would guess you will probably need to have a local technician look at it if it is out of warranty.

Thanks for all of the feedback, I have never owned a Sony product so there is nothing I can tell you about them other than while I have been removing malware for about ten years, I can not recall malware effecting one key or even two on the keyboard?

C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\ <<< if you updated since you posted that log I would not be aware of it.
Start > Control Panel > Java (little coffee cup) click the Update tab then Update New. You will be told if Java is up to date. Once you know you are update, then open Add Remove programs and uninstall old versions of Java.

As far as the system software goes, they have been having a few issues and working on them, but they don't sound like yours. I am a lowly volunteer foot soldier, you would have to contact management about your issues.

yes, the new java was added after the log since that was the sequence of your instructions.

i see we are fellow floridians - we are desperately hoping for some cooler weather down here / miami tonight
