Hello. Before I start posting logs, I should probably mention that I tried to get rid of this infection on my own by doing the following:
Ran Adaware and Spybot Search and Destroy, ran CCleaner and CounterSpy, as well as an online scan of Bitdefender and Panda Active Scan.
It looked like I got it all the first time, but it all reinstalled and reinstalled with every subsequent attempt to get rid of it. And so I ended up here =o

Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information.
"BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

Thanks for posting the correct information, since you know how hard it is to remove, I quess I don't have to tell you again. Please read and follow the directions carefully.

1) Most items in the Kaspersky are infected System Restore files which we will clean later, just DO NOT use System Restore and these:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Norton AntiVirus\Quarantine\ <<< delete the contents of the NAV quarantine folder so we do not have to see those again.

2) Thanks to Atribune and any others who helped with this fix.

http://vundofix.atribune.org/ <<< tutorial

"Download VundoFix" to your Desktop

http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4

Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
When VundoFix opens, click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will attempt run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click
the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot. Vundofix.txt will be on the C:\

2) Thanks to sUBs and anyone else who helped with this fix.

Download ComboFix from Here (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) or Here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) to your Desktop

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Post the Vundofix.txt, combofix log and a new HJT log

Thanks

The infection is still as healthy as ever, actually it seems to have gotten worse, it's 5 mins after combofix finished and it's all reinstalled and it looks like the viruses are getting more creative, they're popping up new fake security alerts that I haven't seen before =o

Thanks for your help by the way, we all appreciate the time you guys put in =)

Thanks for returning your information and the feedback. There is no doubt this is a bad infection and it will take more work to remove it. The junk will download more so stay offline unless you are troubleshooting. It looks like like this infection has been actively growing for around 10 days. Follow the instructions carefully.

1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

3) Open a new notepad window
Paste the list of files from the quote box below into the notepad window.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\xslryqop.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\hreggvmi.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\wlomkguy.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\yugkmolw.ini
C:\WINDOWS\system32\orecebux.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\rrhteblu.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\gjtffysu.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\fjsallga.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\fcnsgdpy.ini
C:\WINDOWS\system32\jdhodumt.ini
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ivubdiat.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\hwergayy.exe

C:\WINDOWS\system32\oatqnmuk.ini
C:\WINDOWS\system32\thkfkkug.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\yrldyect.ini
C:\WINDOWS\system32\hmvehcex.ini

Save this as vundofix.vft and Save as type "all files".
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Drag vundofix.vft onto the listbox (white box) of VundoFix.
Click the "Remove Vundo" button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

5) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\wlomkguy.dll <<< check to make sure that file is gone.

6) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Post the Vundofix report, a new HJT log and some feedback.

Thanks...Phil

VundoFix log. I didn't include the part of the log where it found all the files you listed but could not delete them. I ran it in normal mode and when it restarted I did a scan as it requested, but it only found 3, so I re-ran the scan in safe mode and it took care of them.

Also, before I noticed it hadn't removed any of them while not in safe mode, I deleted C:\WINDOWS\system32\wlomkguy.dll and the corresponding startup registry key myself.

The computer runs alright after removing these things and not being connected to the internet (I'm posting via another pc right now), but that was typical when I was removing it before until I connected it back to the internet, so I really can't say. That's why I'm asking for your help =P

Oh, and I updated Java right away, and that was the reason I'm infected, I watched it start up when I knew it shouldn't have, but by that point there wasn't much I could do.

Thanks again for your help!

You can make yourself heard here: http://www.malwarecomplaints.info/

Your HJT log looks to be clean of malware, Remove combofix, C:\qoobox\quarantine folder, Vundofix and the Vundofix Backup folder and run a new Kaspersaky scan to see what is left. I know we still have to clean System Restore so expect some. Please use these settings when you scan this time.

Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.

Then post it here.

Thanks

Hey, sorry for the delay for the update. It's crunch time for finals, so thank god everything is back in order =)

I was a little worried when Counterspy ran a scan that I forgot to un-schedule and found a bunch of things, but since then every scan has been clean, and nothing has installed again. I turned system restore off and on and emptied the quarantine folders, and all seems in working order. And now I've got Java updated ;)

Thanks a lot for your help, it saved a lot of frustration and wasted hours, especially now that I don't have to scramble to find another computer to use; I really appreciate what you and many others are doing here.

Best regards,
Kevin
