Hello,

Our domain name, "7search.com", is being blocked by Spybot. This negatively affects our advertisers who are unable to login into their 7Search accounts and manage their advertising campaigns.

99% of the affected advertisers, do not know how to remove "7search.com" from the Spybot block list.

Could you please advise us on how we can proceed to have the "7search.com" domain removed from the Spybot block list.

Sincerely,
7Search

Spybot doesn't seem to be the only anti-malware product restricting access to 7Search.com. 7Search.com also appears to be blocked by both the hpHosts and MVPS HOSTS files as well as being placed in IE's restricted zone by the IE-SPYAD Restricted Sites List.

MD USA Spybot Fan - thank you for the quick reply.

We are currently working with multiple vendors to resolve this problem. What steps should we take in order to have SpyBot remove 7Search.com domain from the block list.

Our clients (both advertisers and affiliates) are having difficult time getting into their 7Search accounts due to the domain being on the block list.

Hello,

Unfortunately, we still did not hear back from anyone regarding our specific inquiry.

In addition, the 7FaSStSearch toolbar is not available for download since about 2003.

Below is an example of a typical response we get from clients who have used SpyBot, uninstalled it, and still had the "bad" HOSTS file and Restricted Sites remaining on their machine.

* Does SpyBot Team have any recommendations for these former SpyBot customers on how to make sure they can COMPLETELY remove SpyBot from their machine?

Hi _______,

I could just KISSS YOU.

Sorry, I have to get a hold of myself.

You have no idea how much frustration I have been going thru trying to solve this problem.

Yes, I did use Spy Bot, I liked it, but it was like having security watching my security.

I had removed it a while ago and thought I had gotten all the bugs out.

I followed your instructions and the browser is working now.

Thanks,

__________

Tashi, not sure if we understand your last comment:

"Edit:

The "sample complaint" above, was a customer of 7Search who at one point had Spybot on their machine. They uninstalled Spybot software, but Spybot left all of the blocked HOSTS and Restricted Sites on their computer. They could not remove these things on their own, and therefore, could not access their 7Search account.

We were asking this:

Is there a tool (or at least a HELP page) that Spybot "users" can use to completely remove Spybot from their computers (including the HOSTs file and the Restricted Sites list)?

Hello,

In that case you can tell the user:

Install Spybot again.
Then run Spybot-S&D and select "Spybot-S&D" --> "Immunize" in the navigation bar on the left. Please hit "Undo".
Then choose 'Tools' from the navigation bar on the left and untick the checkbox in front of the 'SdHelper'.

This should solve the problem.

Best regards
