I have been infected with the Zlob DNS Changer as many others here in the Forum.
I have an infected File\Folder, in My Documents, so when I run the Kaspersky scan it with stop, and I receive an explorer has encountered a problem and needs to shut down.
Also, I cannot open nor delete the folder, I get Windows needs to shut down.
After reading other posts and the forum rules, I have done or installed the following and as a start provided a HJT log.
-Downloaded Highjack This (not fixing anything yet)
-Downloaded AVG Anti-Spyware, (and updated)
-Downloaded ATF Cleaner, (did not run yet)
-Downloaded SmitfraudFix, (able to Launch from desktop)
SO I think I am ready for HELP!!!
I hope I have done everything correct to this point??
I await your response, OKAY?
Here is the HJT log:

Okay!
Just to let you know, after unchecking Resident SD Helper and Resident TeaTimer, I did not get the "Allow Change" box. After re-boot, I opened Spybot\Tools\Resident and the 2 items remain unchecked, so I guess that's good.
Attched are the two log files you requested:
1) Report from Fixwareout
2) new HJT log
I await your next response
Thanks.
Here is the Fixwareout report:

Thanks for returning your information and the feedback, that should be OK with TeaTimer, sometimes it does such a good job of keeping things in memory we have to uninstall Spybot S&D to get things done. Let's see how it goes.
Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.
Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

When you say how is your computer running now, do you want me to try to open up the Folder I think is infected?,
We removed some nasty Ukrainian hackers from your computer, you should know if there is a change in the performance of your computer. Please do tell me about any file you think is infected. In fact, here are free online tools you can use to scan the files and post the results.
http://virusscan.jotti.org/
http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus
http://www.virustotal.com/
If something is there you are positive does not belong there, delete it.
Tools you mentioned:
-Downloaded Highjack This (not fixing anything yet)Great tool, I have been using HJT to help keep my computer clean for about ten years.
-Downloaded AVG Anti-Spyware, (and updated)a good tool but I uses resources and gives nothing in return once the trial period if over (unless you purchase it
-Downloaded ATF Cleaner, (did not run yet)You have now, a great freeware tool.
-Downloaded SmitfraudFix, (able to Launch from desktop)
Smitfraud is for a specific infection that I do not see. The creator asks that we not run the tool to clean if the infection is not present. You can run the "Search" function before you delete it and post the results if you wish.
Search:
Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select 1 and hit Enter to create a report of the infected files. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt
Note: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool". It is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.
http://www.beyondlogic.org/consulting/processutil/processutil.htm
Post only the C:\rapport.txt
Please wait to activate TeaTimer until I post closing information and tell you the computer is clean.
I would to see the results of a Kaspersky scan to make sure nothing is hiding from us:
Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner
You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.
Then post it here.
Thanks
RobertScott

Thanks for returning your information and the feedback. Sometimes older files can't be deleted, if it is bad, we will know when we run Kaspersky.
This HJT log looks to be clean of malware. Remove Smitfraudfix from your computer.
Run a Kaspersky scan to be sure, if it is clean, do not post it, just let me know, how is your computer running.
Thanks
RobertScott

The Kaspersky Scan said it found 2 viruses, so I am posting it now.
I await your response
Thanks

Okay!
Computer is running better, although I noticed that it was a bit slower on reboot than normal.
With all the programs we used to fix my problem which ones should I run on a regular basis???
And when they ask to delete virus or spyware is it always safe to do so???
Should I re-install Spybot?? with what settings??
I still have these on my desktop:
ATF Cleaner
AVG
HighJackThis
Fixwareout
I deleted the SmitFaraud as you told me to
I will read through the links you provided.
Let me know before you end my thread
Thank you pskelley

I am not 100% sure what Bell is supplying you, you need a antivirus, firewall and a good spyware program that runs in realtime. Let me know what they supply, the ones you asked about I suggest this.
Spybot: a good free programs, download it with the default setting. If you use Teatimer or not is up to you, I do not, preferring SpywareGuard which you will read about in the links I provided.
ATF-Cleaner: uses no resources and it is a good free cleaner, keep and use it.
AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5: is a good program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.
HijackThis: Excellant tool, you know what a clean log looks like now, I run a scan once a month or so always looking for any changes. The program uses no resources until you start it.
Fixwareout: One time tool, delete it if you still have it, the creator is constantly updating it so it is needed new if you are ever infected with "wareout" again.
Smitfraudfix: same instructions as Fixwareout.
I provided a link that will help your computer run faster if you read and follow the simple instructions.
Your topic will stay open a few days.

Bell Security:
The services I have running all the time are:
-AntiVirus
-Firewall
-AntiSpyware
-Fraud Protection
This program is "supposed to be pretty goo"
Although I am aware that no one program can offer 100% protection
Regarding BitTorrent and P2P:
Is there any way I can protect against viruses/spyware coming in to my computer?? This is no doubt where I was infected in the first place

That should be enough protection, the rest is about good, safe surfing habits. Here is some information that might help, and some just for general awareness:
