hi,

ok thanks for the info.

first we will use hjt, then vundofix.

start HJT, click the "Scan" button. check the items below, close any open windows, then click "Fixed checked"

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {2ABAAC42-84DF-4C00-89DA-BC7EB2B0E70B} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\urqrpqq.dll
---------------------------
next start vundofix and right click in the window on "add more files"

copy/paste this on to the first line:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\urqrpqq.dll

then click on "add files" then "close window"
back at the main window of vundofix click on "Remove Vundo"

after the reboot, rescan and post a new hjt log.

I've been running HJT and the O2 file isn't showing up anymore. I havn't deleted it before or used any other removal programs.

hi,

thanks for the info. first we will use vundofix, then, hjt, and last: boot into safe mode to look for a file to delete.

launch vundofix, right click in the window on "add more files"
in the new window copy/paste:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\JKHFG.DLL

click on "add files" then "close window"
back at the main screen click on 'remove vundo"
----------------------------------
next:
start HJT, click the "Scan" button. check the items below, close any open windows, then click "Fixed checked"

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Gya] "C:\Documents and Settings\Darrus Ong\My Documents\?ppPatch\?ervices.exe"

------------------------------------------
might want to copy/paste this into notepad and save it somewhere so you can read it in safe mode:

to reach safe mode you would tap the f8 key during a computer restart. chose the first option: safe mode.
once in safe mode navigate here:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Gya] "C:\Documents and Settings\Darrus Ong\My Documents\

you are looking for a folder that has pppatch in the name. the ? could be a random letter
inside the folder you should find most likely a services.exe
file--delete the entire folder
----------------------------------------
while in safe mode run superantispyware once
reboot normally afterwards and rescan and post a new hjt log.

Followed all the steps except the last one. I wasn't able to find the folder.

hi Darrus,

sorry for the delay. that last hjt log and the superantispyware log looks ok, except whats in the system restore dir.
we can clear that up with this:

One of the features of Windows ME or XP is the System Restore option, however if a malware infects a computer with this operating system it can be backed up in the System Restore folder. Therefore, clearing the restore points is agood idea after malware is removed.

To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

(winXP)

1. Turn off System Restore. (deletes old possibly infected restore point)
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

2. Reboot.

3. Turn ON System Restore.(new restore points on a clean system)
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK, then reboot

i see you use bitcomet, some tips for you about p2p:

Awsome, thanks for the help and easy step by step instructions. Should I keep all the programs that I downloaded for this or are there some I should uninstall?
Also, theres this VundoFix Backups folder. Should I delete that?

hi,

glad to help.
you can delete combofix like this:
start>run and type in: combofix /u
click ok. there is a space after the 'x'
if it dosnt remove the vundo backup folder you can do it manually.
