I have been using Firefox with Spybot/Spyware Blaster for years now. However after my recent updates to FF (2.0.0.11) and Spybot/Spyware Blaster - the two antispy programs started not detecting FF was even installed on my system anymore... I read this could be a cause of hostperm.1 being too large so I did a complete uninstall of all 3 programs including deleting my FF profile folder entirely. However even after my FF profile was rebuilt, neither Spybot nor Spyware Blaster could redetect the FF installation... Strangely enough, my IE protection works just fine for both antispy programs... Can anyone help me?

BTW this is with Spybot 1.5.1.15 installed in Vista x86 (with Admin rights.)

I'm not sure if this issue applies to you if Spybot detected Firefox was installed before you upgraded to Firefox 2.0.0.11,but there is this issue listed for Spybot 1.5.1.15:

This is the latest beta,if you'd like to try it and see if it helps:

My FF Profile folder in is the Roaming section under my user name... However I find it odd that BOTH Spybot AND SpywareBlaster cannot detect this folder which I suspect might be some other more centralized issue with the FF-protection mechanisms... I had both programs on my Vista running fine for quite some time, but this new issue appeared suddenly out of the blue...

I'm not sure why Spybot and Spywareblaster might have just all of a sudden stopped detecting that you have Firefox installed.I have the same version of Firefox on Vista, and I didn't get any problems with Immunization after the Firefox update, though I am running a different version of Spybot, since I have the beta.

There's a post at Wilder's where someone had a similar problem with Spybot and Spywareblaster(though it doesn't seem to have started happening just all of a sudden),and it mentions the problems with Vista and Spywareblaster will be fixed in the next release of Spywareblaster:

BTW - this Vista operating system had UAC-enabled since Day 1... I know UAC creates "virtualized" file program areas, but don't know if it can affect something like FF-immunization...

I have windows xp sp 2 and have firefox 2.0.011 installed and the latest spywareblaster. I have always had the same problem with the two. I enable all protection after every update to Spyware Blaster and it never 'holds' after reboot. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
