Note: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool". It is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

There is also one BHO that Smitfraudfix does not have in the fix yet. There is a newer version SmitFraudFix v2.261, but this item did not get added. We will try to remove the item manually and see what happens.
I need to ask, in the next C:\rapport.txt the hosts file will be very large, please edit that hosts file out of the rapport before you post it to save space and mention that you did this to remind me.
1) Clean:
Reboot your computer in Safe Mode (before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually)
Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select 2 and hit Enter to delete infect files.
You will be prompted: Do you want to clean the registry ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.
The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found): Replace infected file ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to restore a clean file.
A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt
Optional:
To restore Trusted and Restricted site zone, select 3 and hit Enter.
You will be prompted: Restore Trusted Zone ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to delete trusted zone.
Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE-SPYAD, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE-SPYAD, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.
2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune

Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.
Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
Restart and post the C:\rapport.txt, a new HJT log and some feedback.

Which files exactly are the host files that I need to edit out next time .... the whole list after the word host files, or what?
is there automatically a new rapport in the file location or do I need to re-run the scan to get a new rapport each time?

Hi Adam, the hosts file items will look like this: 127.0.0.1 (bad sites) and unless I miss my guess there will be a lot of them, probably 8000 which are the bad items the hosts files protects you from, but we do not need to see all of those in the topic. So...edit them all out of the report before you post it.
Each time you run Smitfraudfix it creates a new C:\rapport.txt for that particular function. If you need to find it look here: C:\rapport.txt <<< make sure it is the newest one.
Nope...I never laugh at questions, has not been that many years ago when I was not sure how to plug a computer into the wall:laugh:

Thanks for the feedback, and I suggest you do the optional cleaning of the trusted zone to be sure no malware got in there. It appears the version of Smitfraudfix you used is old: SmitFraudFix v2.260
The creator of the fix adds new files often and the fix is up to SmitFraudFix v2.263. I would like you to delete the version you have and download the new version. No need to Search, just go straight to these instructions and run them all this time:
Clean:
Reboot your computer in Safe Mode (before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually)
Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select 2 and hit Enter to delete infect files.
You will be prompted: Do you want to clean the registry ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.
The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found): Replace infected file ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to restore a clean file.
A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt
Optional:
To restore Trusted and Restricted site zone, select 3 and hit Enter.
You will be prompted: Restore Trusted Zone ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to delete trusted zone.
Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE-SPYAD, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE-SPYAD, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.
Post the C:\rapport.txt and a new HJT log. Please tell me about any malware issues. If that hugh hosts file shows up in the C:\rapport.txt, edit it out again please.

Your HJT log is clean of malware, I suggest you run a good cleaner. If you don't have one try:

This is the only infection located by Kaspersky and I know Smitfraudfix was updated to remove this item. Check to make sure it is gone.

all seems to be clear as of now, I ahve followed all directions as you have given them. I really appreciate your help greatly.
Do i need to delete all of the HJK stuff and smitfraud stuff from my computer or leave it on there?
Any other good advice for me now?

Thanks for the feedback, if you are having no issues, you are good to go. Please delete Smitfraudfix from your computer, it does not update and must be downloaded new if needed. I suggest you run CleanManager:

You may keep HJT, it does not run and uses no resources. Here is some information about the tool:

I also suggest you update your antivirus program and run a complete system scan.
