Does anyone know what this is? I have searched online, but all I can come up with is that it is included in some other peoples Hijack This logs.
I just did a C drive restore and every time I log on I get this small pop up box which says:
"There is an important update or supplemental material about your VAIO computer" with the choices "read now" or "remind me later."
When I choose read now Adobe Reader opens with info about doing a system restore and making a recovery disc. After it is open for a few minutes the pc starts running very loudly. When I check Task Manager a process called EFlyer_Popup.exe is using 54% cpu. When I close adobe reader it stops, and sometimes the whole name is gone from the task manager. Other times the name has stayed but cpu usage drops to 0.
I searched my pc and came up with this file:
C:\WINDOWS\Sonysys\EFlyer\EFlyer_Popup.exe
So I then contacted Sony and was told to check for spyware and adware. Which I already had done using SpybotSD, Spy Sweeper, and Microsoft Anti Spyware. All were negative for spyware.
So I then did an online scan and that came back negative as well.
Is it possible this is just a normal Sony Vaio update and the tech I chatted with just didn't know what he was talking about?
Any insite would be very much appreciated!
