Hi Everyone,

I'm kind of new around here and I'm not too sure which forum to ask this question in but here goes anyway.

I have something like just over 300 Spybot Search and Destroy entries :p: with names like;

Recovery\CommonDialogs1.zip\sbRecovery.ini Recovery\CommonDialogs1.zip\sbRecovery.reg
Recovery\InternetExplorer\14.zip\sbRecovery.ini
Recovery\InternetExplorer\14.zip\sbRecovery.reg

My question is...How do I get rid of all of those things? They add a whole lot of scanning time to my virus scanner, and I'd really like to know if they are something that I need to keep, or if there is some setting that I have overlooked that would limit their number.

Oh...if I can make it work maybe this picture will show what I mean. OK my attachment won't attach.

Thanks for any advice.

Wendy

Hello,

They are needed for Spybot-S&D's recovery. They can be restores in case something does not work after fixing a problem with Spybot-S&D.
You'll find the recovery, if you start Spybot - Search & Destroy and select 'Search and Destroy' --> 'Recovery' in the left bar. If, after a scan, the system works without problems you can delete these files by clicking on 'Purge selected recovery' in the same section after ticking all the checkboxes. You can also change the settings. In the left bar, select 'Settings' --> 'Settings', and in the right window search for 'Age of recovery'. By clicking on that entry you can type in the number of days after which Spybot - Search & Destroy should remove the recovery zip-files automatically.

The zip files in the recovery folder are password protected.
The password is: recovery

Best regards

Hi spybotsandra,

:oops: Looks like I missed getting back to you on this one... sorry about that.

Thanks for the information, now I can get rid of all of the extra stuff from time to time.
