Video mode reset to 640x480

I am trying to fix a friends PC, however whenever I run Spybot S&D, particularly the update section, it reverts the video settings back to 640x480. Other than frustrating, it makes it very hard to see whats happening. I have searched these forums but I can't seem to find anything that resembles this issue.
I have un-installed and re-installed Spybot and the same thing happens.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Just a guess:

• Using Windows explorer navigate to:
  • C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy.
• Right click on SDUpdate.exe and select "Properties".
• Click on the "Compatibility" tab.
• Under "Display settings" if "Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution" is checked:
  • Uncheck it.
  • Click the "Apply" button followed by the "OK" button.
  
  Note: Also check the SpybotSD.exe program.

Ohhh soo close. The actuall .exe's had nothing set, however several shortcuts had several different things set for different ones. You appear to have nailed it on the head.
I would guess her son or daughter has been playing.
