My Kaspersky sacn had numerous locked files. Is this normal ?

I found a file, catchme.sys and when I tried to open it Avg said it was a trojan and moved to vault? The following is the info from Avg.
When I go to look for it at the specified location it is not there?

Couldn't find anything wrong in the hjt log.
The Kaspersky scan said I did not have admin rights to download the active x?
First of all does your user account has admin rights? I see you have been able to run Kaspersky scanner before. (Monday, December 31, 2007 6:02:12 PM) What have you done after that?

Yes I was able to scan it that time after which I deleted it. For some reason it would not let me this time? Ihave admin rights on the comp
What about the trojan that AVG virus scan found, was it a false positive? And is the catchme.sys files on my computer from vista?

This is the info AVG VS gave me. Should I be concerned?
Delete that c:\Users\Bender\Appdata\Local\Temp\hoshgsj.dll file. It would also be good if you could get a fresh Kaspersky scanner log (adjust scanner settings like instructed here (http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=1150&postcount=2)) :)

The first location was the location of the trojan hoshbgsj.dll that i deleted and there seems to be
a couple others?
Should theses be deleted also?

Click rootkit-tab and then scan.

Show All
box while scanning in progress!
When scanning is ready, click Copy.

I downloaded GMER and ran the scan copied and pasted but the file was to big to send?
Text was 78536 characters and the message will only take 20000?
You said not to check the all files show all box, it was not checked but all the boxes above it on the right hand side were. Is this the problem?

Blade when I exited GMER a box came up and said it did not install properly, Do you wish to reinstall. I said yes!
Then a full display blue screen with the following, Software was not compatible with Windows, Page fault in non page area, plus some additional info is was not able to read in time before it shut down the computer.
Upon startup a box saying, Windows recovered from an unexpected shutdown, Windows will notify you if a solutionis available.
Sloutionpage said, Problem caused by GMER rootkit detector

Iran the SWreg.exe and the message was backing up registry, this remained on the screen for a good length of time. I assumed it was done. Was I correct in assming this?
So I ran the regsearch again.

Let's try with another method.
Download Registrar Lite from here (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download469.html) and install it.
Start Registrar Lite.
Type in to Address field this and click ok: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root\LEGACY_CATCHME
Right-click that key and choose Properties. Click
Take ownership
.
Right-click that key again and choose Delete.
Repeat process for these key(s):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_CATCHME
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet005\Enum\Root\LEGACY_CATCHME
After done run Registrysearch tool and post the results once again.

THESE STEPS ARE VERY IMPORTANT
Let's reset system restore
Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to create one clean restore point. Please note you need Administrator Access to do clean the restore points.
A To disable the System Restore feature:
1. Click on the Start button.
2. Hover over the Computer option, right click on it and then click Properties.
3. On the left hand side, click Advanced Settings.
4. If asked to permit the action, click on Allow.
5. Click on the System Protection tab.
6. Uncheck any checkboxes listed for your hard drives.
7. Press OK.

C Turn ON System Restore.
Follow the steps like you did when disabling system restore but on step 6. check any checkboxes listed for your hard drives.
UPDATING WINDOWS AND INTERNET EXPLORER
IMPORTANT: You Need to Update Windows and Internet Explorer to protect your computer from the malware that is around on the Internet. Please go to the windows update site (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/) to get the critical updates.

Make your Internet Explorer more secure

webpages, but the webpages cannot do certain things (such as use javascripts and cookies).

Every version of windows has a hosts file as part of them. In a very basic sense, they are used to locate webpages. We can customize a hosts file so that it blocks certain webpages. However, it can slow down certain computers. This is why using a hosts file is optional!!

If you decide to download the hosts file, the slowdown problems can usually be avoided by following these steps:
Click the start button (at the lower left hand corner of your screen) Click run In the dialog box, type services.msc hit enter, then locate dns client Highlight it, then double-click it. On the dropdown box, change the setting from automatic to manual. Click ok
Just a final reminder for you. I am trying to stress these two points.
UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE!!! Make sure you do this about every 1-2 weeks.
Make sure all of your security programs are up to date.
Run the spybot and adaware regularly. (Once or twice a week minimum.)
Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.

Did system restore.
I did as you said downloaded Spyware blaster, but windows will not allow it to open i get the following message
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is availible. This running it as administrator.
I downloaded iespyads seems okay. I downloaded the host.zip but will have to read up a bit before i install it.

Hosts file will do same things as Spywareblaster would and more. Definitely recommend it (I use it myself too :D:)
