ok i'm a newb here but ran all the things indicated in the "read before you post" sticky...please help. I cleaned most of the things up...but I got a threat for a backdoor trojan...see logs...any and all assistance in getting rid of this $#*! is GREATLY appreciated.... :fear:

You have not provided much information about this trojan? What program finds it and where does that program say it is.

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temp\ <<< delte the contents of that Temp folder

C:\Program Files\Self-Repair Technician\ctrbt.exe <<< delete that file (delete that program unless you are positive it is safe)

C:\Program Files\WindowsUpdate\profsy.html <<< delete that file (check that folder, it may need to be deleted also)

Restart and run a new Kaspersky Scan, do not post a clean scan, just tell me if that takes care of the trojan problem.

the backdoor trojan was found by symantec....it also showed up with the kaspersky scan....

i deleted the files you suggested...just waiting for the recommended scan (after the deletion of files) to finish to see if anything else pops up. i have to run to work so I will postas soon as I get home.

scan completed and problem is NOT fixed...I know you said not to post another log, but here is the part that tells me it's still there...

Thanks for the feedback, those are infected System Restore files I clean last so we only need do them once.

MANUAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SYSTEM RESTORE
Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Reboot

Turn ON System Restore,
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
