I just got the new update today and did a scan and it found this here registry change.

I never use the ActiveDesktop so don't know how I got a changed in it.
Last scan I did was clean as they are always clean or was false ones pointing to the hosts file that has been fixed by newer updates from spybot. But last scan was 2005-12-29 02:15

So do I let spybot fix this?

Since that entry is in HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT it will be inherited by any new user that is added to the system. The NoActiveDesktopChanges detection is saying that the dword is not zero (!=W=0) which indicates that "Lock Web content" would be in affect for any new users added to the system.

If you assume that Spybot is checking for the same entry in HKEY_USERS\CURRENT_USER and did not detect it, that would indicated that you do not have a similar setting for the user that you were logged with when you ran the scan (if you know how to use regedit you could verify that).

Fixing it is really your call.

I am the only user on this PC. You know I had taken my PC over to my sisters to get updates on her cable a long time ago and the login to the PC came up and the user name was typed in by here and also missed spelled and I had the login or log out user added to the start menu I never had before that day. A couple monts back and I forget just what both was told what file I could delete to do away with the other user name and I did that.
Then I unchecked in tweak IU, IE tab,allow logoff. Anyhow the logoff is no longer showing up in the start menu. Now I have seen looking in the registry that it still has that other user listed who is me stil with a miss spelled name.

So seeing how it is just me on this PC and I do not want or use ActiveDesktop do I fix this or leave it or just say pick one of these two?...

Says in registry this here.
[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoActiveDesktopChanges"=hex:00,00,00,00

Solved

I let spybot fix HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoActiveDesktopChanges!=W=0

and now it says this in the registry.

[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoActiveDesktopChanges"=dword:00000000

The scans are coming up cleaned so mark this solved.
