View Full Version : Another Redirect Problem

Please help. I am pretty clueless when it comes to computer problems. My browser keeps redirecting me to some other websites when I click on a yahoo or google link and other search engines.
Also, I have zonealarm and it keeps informing me at startup that a microsoft malaware remover keeps asking forpermission to access the internet - I managed to identify the site as: 85.255.113.134.
I run both Norton and ZoneAlarm.
Help would be very much appreciated.

Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information.
"BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.
To help you since you are new, I can tell you about all forums pin the instructions at the top of the forum.
I have posted them above also, do not run and post the required Kaspersky scan until I request it now.
Here are your your Ukrainian hackers:
http://whois.domaintools.com/85.255.113.134
1) We need first to disable TeaTimer that it doesn't interfere with fixes. You can re-enable it when you're clean again:
* Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
* If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
* On the left hand side, Click on Tools
* Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
* Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
* Restart your computer.
2) Thanks to LonnyBJones and anyone else who helped with this fix.
Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lonny/Fixwareout.exe
Save it to your Desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
Once the desktop loads post the text that will open (report.txt) and a new Hijackthis log in the forum please.
Thanks
jasinder

Thanks for returning your information and the feedback. You said:
Here is my fixwareout report(i ran this yesterday before installing spybot, but forgot to attach it here for you - sorry). That would be why I do not see the hidden rootkit file being removed in this run of Fixwareout.
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_02\ <<< Java needs and update, see this:

Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.
2) TeaTimer must be disabled.
3) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"
4) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
Restart and post a new HJT log along with some feedback.
