• Welcome Guest, to the Spybot Forums! It's 2025, and we just upgraded our forum software.

Today is Safer Internet Day, and with our new forum, you can finally use passkeys to login. That was about time!

Of course, you could ask if a forum is still useful, with so many social media networks out there where you might already have an account, and met a lot of users. You can now use your login from some of those networks to log in here. And by posting here, your question and data is stored on our servers and not automatically shared with a whole social media network.

We'll also start using the forum for small bits of information, announcements and more again.

Hiding S&D Resident Icon

Hello,

Probably you have deactivated the resident TeaTimer?
- Go into Spybot - Mode - Advanced Mode - Tools - Resident.
- Check the following: Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of over-all system settings) Active.

Best regards
Sandra

Ah, you want to just hide the icon, not stop the application?
There's an undocumented trick somewhere on this forum (don't remember it from memory and it's not officially documented since hiding software is kind of what the bad guys like to do too often ;) ).

Update:

Found something for you here:

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd15/index.html

"Added TeaTimer hide icon (disabled) registry value in installer"

Search for this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Safer Networking Limited\SpybotSnD

and change the value from "TeaTimerHide" to "1"

Note: If you don't know how to edit the registry then I would
advise you not to use this option.

Back again. it seems with version 1.5 it ignores the registry setting.

Thanks
