You guys helped me immensely several weeks ago getting rid of Smitfraud. Now I have recurring TagASaurus.

Hello Jeff, I am not seeing anything in the HJT log and Kaspersky has four suspicious System Restore files. Use the information in this link to clean those:

What program is finding this item and where does it say it is. What symptoms are you receiving, any error messages? If so post those word for word. Please provide more information than you have.

Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.
(You may edit out Microsoft, Hotfixes, Security Update for Windows XP, Update for Windows XP and Windows XP Hotfix to shorten the list)

Thanks for the help. I get the recurring TagASaurus when running Spybot S&D v. 1.4. The only symptoms I see are occasionally a new internet tab pops up when I didn't open it. I am sensitive to any infections on my PC because I do alot of online business-related stuff.

When I go to System Restore, there is not an option to Turn Off System Restore On All Drives like your link said, so I am at a loss as to how to proceed on that.

I do not know all of your programs, but you should. I can not see anything that looks like malware.

Viewpoint Media Player <<< read about this item.
For your information, Viewpoint is installed by aol probably without your knowledge. I suggest you uninstall this resource waster in Add Remove programs.

System Restore: MANUAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SYSTEM RESTORE
Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Reboot

Turn ON System Restore,
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
