The blank start up entry is part of Sony VAIO Giga Pocket .

If this is the one that you are talking about.

Well, in spybot there is an entry that has:

Startup (common) (C:\documents and settings\all usuers\start menu\programs\startup) Remocon Driver.lnk c:\program files\sony\usbsircs\usbsircs.exe

Which I am assuming is what you are talking about. Then there is one that says:

HK_LM:RunOnceEx (Current System) Blank Blank

*note it does not say blank it is just blank space under the "Value" column and the "Command line" column

When it is clicked on, the right side pull out says:

Database status: Not Required - virus, spyware, malware or other resource hog
Value: Blank (again blank space not the word)
Filename: system32.exe
Description: Added by the AGOBOT-KU WORM! Note - has a blank entry under the Startup Item/Name field

Also I just checked under msconfig and there is actually 2 blank spaces with check mark boxes in there aswell.

Run this online scan from ESET (http://www.eset.eu/online-scanner)

You will need to use Internet explorer for this scan!
First, accept the Terms of Use
Click: Start
When asked, allow the ActiveX control to install
Click: Start
Make sure the options:
Remove found threats, and Scan unwanted applications
are both checked!
Click: Scan


When the scan finishes, use Notepad to open the ESET report.
It will be located here C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt

Just a heads up I am trying to do the scan but I keep getting an error after I install the active x and click start.
It says Error: Update Failed (108).

I will continue to retry it throughout the day.

Lets try running combofix.exe

Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply.

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall

Ok so I ran combofix and it had an error upon startup:
swreg.cfexe - The instruction at "0x79111de" referenced memory at "0x006d006c". The memory could not be "read". Click ok to terminate.

I clicked ok and combofix continued to startup. In the interest of full disclosure; I started combofix by selecting option 1 but mcafee script blocking popped up and froze the program so I had to restart the computer. After the restart I fully disabled mcafee and restarted combofix.

Again I received the memory error but this time it went straight to scanning and scanned all the way through. (I dont know if any of this info is important but I figure I should give you all the info I can from my end.)

Also, below it says there is no recovery console. I do not know what that means but system restore is on and combofix setup restore points the first time I launched it. (although this was also the time that the computer froze and I had to restart) There is also a Vaio Recovery Wizard in the control panel.

Backup Your Registry with ERUNT
Please use the following link and scroll down to ERUNT and download it.

For version with the Installer:
Use the setup program to install ERUNT on your computer
For the zipped version:
Unzip all the files into a folder of your choice.
Click Erunt.exe to backup your registry to the folder of your choice.

Note: to restore your registry, go to the folder and start ERDNT.exe



I recommend you download RegSeeker (http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm). Extract it to it's own folder, open and double click RegSeeker.exe to start the program. Maximize the window and click clean registry. Check all sections and click OK. When the scan is complete, verify the backup box in lower left corner is checked and click the select all button, then select all again. Then right click within the search results and select delete. Reboot and make sure your programs are working properly, control panel and add/remove programs windows open, etc (basically just do a quick check of everything). In the event anything was 'broken', you can open RegSeeker, click backups and double click any/all files to put the information back. A reboot may be required for the effects to be seen. Reboot When done.

NOTE: To be extra safe you can choose to only remove the items in RED.
Some items may come back because of the programs you have running.
