Hi,

I have been running Spybot S&D, Microsoft AntiSpyware and Ad-Aware SE for awhile now trying to get rid of "Command Service". I also ran a scan on SpySweeper, but I only have the trial so I can't get rid of anything, but it has stopped ads from popping. Spybot is the only on that detects "Command Service". Also, when i scan on Spybot S&D these keep reappearing:

HitBox
Windows Security Center.AntiVirusDisableNotify
Windows Security Center.FirewallDisableNotify

Many thanks!!!!

here is my hjt log for the command service problem

Hi,
sorry for all the posts. it seems like i got rid of the "command service". i was running the usual spybot, ad-aware and microsoft antispyware. now Spybot S&D keeps finding the "Windows Security Center.AntiVirusDisableNotify" and Windows Security Center.FirewallDisableNotify" and keeps comming back after i fix it. I can fix them in Spybot S&D but when I reboot and check again it comes back. also, whenever i reboot, "quicklink search toolbar" keeps appearing. I have been removing it by the Microsoft Antispyware.

Thanks again!

here's a freshlog before I fixed the Windows Security ...

Hi
In the windows control panel addremove programs uninstall quicklinks, while your there look for and uninstall any other suspicious programs

Download L2mfix (new version) from one of these two locations:
http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe
Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.
Note:
If you receive while running option #1, an error similar to: ''C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. choose close to terminate the application.."...then please use option 5 or the web page link in the l2mfix folder to solve this error condition. do not run the fix portion without fixing this first.
If it is to large to post in one reply do so in two please

Thanks
next:

Yes i had ment to post this >
Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.
Close the internet connection, Unplug your modem !! if on cable or satalite.
From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter. It will process then start. Your desktop and icons will disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, it will be ready for a reboot.
Press any key to reboot. After the reboot notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

hi,
i'm not sure if I replaced the host file correctly. I extracted it..then clicked on the mvps.bat and a dos window, it read cmd.exe. something like that on the toolbar and the window was a blank black and then closed.. i did this another time.

i was able to take out the 4 things you asked for in HJT. When I first turn on the computer...it automatically restarts. it gets to the windows page where the blue thing is moving then restarts..it does this about 4 times before letting me sign on. i scanned with my trial version of spysweeper and here is what it found; icannnews, look2me, trojan-backdoor-us15info, dollarrevenue, quicklink search toolbar, trojan-phiser-raven, zquest, command, findthewebsiteyouneed hijacker, target saver, wfgtech, winantispyware 2005.

and for the scan on spybot s&d these two still appear;

Windows Security Center.AntiVirusDisableNotify
Windows Security Center.FirewallDisableNotify

thanks very much!!

here's a fresh HJT log;

Being online should be fine now

Quote the entire spywaresweeper error for us, will try to hunt down a solution, i am not familur with that program but my first suggestion would be to uninstall it reboot then delete its folder if still there in program files and install again.

it isn't appearing anymore..i'll see if it comes up again after i reboot. but another thing.. spybot picked up this.. "Windows.RedirectedHosts [716] (Cannot open file"C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\ect\hosts". The Process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process)" .. is this because we replaced the HOSTS files?

off to reboot.

Im Glad we could help
Since the problems are solved Im going to close the topic now, this keeps others with similar problems from posting there logs/question here, they should start a new topic.
If you should need to post another log for the same PC let Me or Tashi know.
