Hi

Which version of LimeWire do you have ?
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=282

In my opinion all of them will lead to an infected pc sooner or later, i suggest not using them.. period...
Atleast uninstall anything you have recently downloaded and installed that was obtained from a p2p program.
C:\Documents and Settings\System User\My Documents\downloads << delete the contents

Start Hijackthis and place a check next to these items If there.
Close all browser windows and shut down all other programs that show in the taskbar.(even Folders)

====================================
Hit fix checked and close Hijackthis.
Restart the PC
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Replace your hosts file
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
How To Download and Extract the HOSTS file:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts2.htm
How did that go ?
Replace it about once monthly to keep it updated
Update suns java manualy
Sun Java V1.5.0_06 is Available: http://java.com/en/index.jsp
Afterwards Turn off it's auto-updater,(Its buggy) , in control panel java >
update tab uncheck its option to update automatically.
After you install the newer version its important to uninstall the old versions, via addremove programs.
Post a fresh hijackthis log please, be sure to mention any current problems.
Hi
That log looks ok, I suggest gettings a bitdefender or houscall scan though.
Im unsure of which version of limewire is clean which is infected
"can i put the files i downloaded back into the "downloads" "
no , uninstall any programs you have installed that were downloaded by a p2p program since the problems started.
If possible zip up a copy of C:\Program Files\Serials3k < serials 3k folder and attach it at this forum please, http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=1.0
Im Glad we could help
Since the problems are solved Im going to close the topic now, this keeps others with similar problems from posting there logs/question here, they should start a new topic.
If you should need to post another log for the same PC let Me or Tashi know.
