Hupigon3.AHGM

Hi I wondered if any of you guys could please help me, I have recently run an AVG scan on my Mum's pc and it has found a trojan called hupigon3.AHGM.
AVG has put this virus in the vault now and after running another virus scan it is coming up clear.
The only problem I have now is the USB ports are not working and also when the system boots up it is coming up with <windows root>system32\hal.dll file missing I have tried to restore the system but it will not work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

My computer recently has disabled my usb ports and now they are not working, im not sure what the problem is here as this has never occured before, has anyone got any suggestions on how to get them working again? This is also stopping my printer from working and i really need them to work as i am a student and i have lots of work =[
