IE pop ups & core.cache.dsk

[akkhandelwal]

I have ran several spyware removal softwares and antivirus software for the last one week, lots of files were found infected and deleted, last was yazzsnet.exe found by kaspersky on line scanner.

However every spyware program finds this one file "core.cache.dsk" in the windows/system32/drivers folder, removes it , but the file is back again and I am still getting the IE pop ups.

Thanks to botoo for his PM.

I found a file created on the same date when I got infected which was "symc8100.sys" residing in the same folder as core.cache.dsk.

Did a google search to find more details on this file and when I got no information, checked other computers for this file, none of the other computers had it, so I finally deleted this file and NO MORE core.cache.dsk and pop ups.

Surprisingly, after deleting this file, my AGV antivirus program will not load, so I will have to re-install it.

Problem solved.

Perhaps, if you believe that after following another member's advice, your anti virus didn't load is normal. :lip:

There may be more to fix than just that file you deleted, even though you may think you fixed it there may be more lurking on your system. With the threats going around today, deleting one or two files is not the answer to a clean system, but its Your call to post a log.

I appreciate your comment. Please look at my logs above and advise what else I should remove.

After removing the symc8100.sys file, I have run several anti virus and anti spyware programs and non have found anything yet in my system.

I have re-installed agv anti-virus program and it is also working without problems.

at lease I am able to use the computer till I get some advise from the experts in this forum.
