I use to watch online videos quite often on a daily basis, but now when I try to watch videos on like youtube or something, they'll usually just freeze the screen after a while and when I close it out and try opening other files on my desktop, they usually wont open after that and I have to restart my computer. I've been told to update Java and I did but it's no use really. This has been happening for the last 2 months or so.

Edit: Oh and I've scaned for spyware, malware, and virus with Spybot and ZoneAlarm but I found nothing.

Hello.

Could be a RAM or video card problem, you didn't give your machine specs.

In your previous topic 2007-12-30 http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?p=149654 I see you experienced a problem with games and your internet connection.

But the thing is, my problem with online videos has been only going on for about two months, I've had the same lag for much longer without any problems with online videos.

Alright well here's what happened like 10 minutes ago after updating my video thing (NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200) after finding a guide through Google on how to update it. Obviously it didn't work.

I login on Youtube and watch an AMV I made a few times over, (I'm trying to figure out how to improve it) and to my surprise it worked for the first five or so times; usually it freezes after watching a video a few times or after watching a few different videos. But while playing it the sixth time, the red line under it that shows how far it is in the video went back to the dark red color that shows up when a video is done or hasn't started yet. When I clicked the play button, the red line would suddenly appear back to where it left off but it wouldn't do anything after that. For some reason the page still worked and if I wanted to I could click on another video or something from the video list next to it, but that would probably just freeze the whole page over when it starts to load the video. So ya, I "X" out and try to go back on the internet by clicking the blue e internet icon, but it would just load for a few seconds and just stop loading.

I restart my computer and the icons work again of course.

Hello.

There could be several causes for the problem you are experiencing, and we still don't know how much RAM you have installed. :p:

On-line videos can be a very big load on the system.

Do you have the latest version (http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_15507&sliceId=2) of Flash Player?

Well I just now just removed adobe flash player with Add or Remove Programs and then reinstalled but it still did the same thing. It didn't go through any kind of uninstallation process when I did though and when I installed Adobe Flash Player it just went to another page and said I was done without any kind of installation process, incase perhaps that isn't suppose to happen.

But ya, after doing that I tried to watch an AMV on Youtube called: A Mad Wolf Tribute, but it just kept loading for some reason. I use to watch it every few days or so and it worked fine and no one else is saying that it's screwing up in the comments so ya...after watching a couple more videos the last one froze half way, but my files still work after closing the page out.

I also forgot to mention that ever since it's been doing this, the latest videos uploaded from people I've suscribed to don't show up in the grey bar in the home page. Here's a sreenshot:

OS, browser, RAM, etc.?

Also, have you looked at your browser and media player caches lately? If you have very large cache settings, you may just be full.

Try completely uninstalling Flash:

and, then reinstalling the latest version:

Good luck.

I've had the same computer software and stuff way before this began happening, so it can't be my comp or RAM. I also plugged in a big fan that blows on high behind my hard drive to keep it cool, so it isn't over heated.

Alright, I play two MMORPG games: World of Warcraft, and Maplestory. I've been playing Maplestory for over two years and World of Warcraft since this Christmas. Since the past month or so, the games will freeze for about 10 seconds every like...well I haven't timed it...maybe 15 minutes to a half hour. If I go into a cave or a room in WoW and target something, it'll keep freezing like every second for a few seconds until I get out, or if the target isn't doing anything to me, and I stop targeting it. Half the time I just so happen to be running away from or fighting a mob and although if I have a pet on WoW, and it'll keep moving, my character will just run in place I guess until it works again. (I've died many, many of these times when I play as my weak clothed warlock :(.) I think my character on Maplestory still moves, but it's been a couple weeks since I've played and even then I hardly played, so I can't really remember.

I think since then my online videos have also been freezing. I'm not sure if it's the same thing or not. What would happen is usually after watching a few videos or the same one a few times, the whole screen'll freeze and usually I can "X" out, but sometimes I have to CTRL + ALT + DEL it out. Then after that I'll usually, but not always, have problems trying to open files on my desktop, and/or while trying to open the internet, it'll open a window, but it wont load. If the internet and stuff still works, and I try to watch an online video again, the page will freeze again before the first video even loads and I have to CTRL + ALT + DEL because now I can't even "X" out of it. Only once after this would my desktop folders still open; atleast from what I can remember. I'm not sure if it's the same thing as my MMORPG games or not because after the online videos freeze, even if I leave the comp on for over 6 hours, nothing will change. Everything will work again after I restart my computer though. What sucks is that watching online music videos use to be one of my favorite things to do to pass the time, but now it's rare I can play more than three 2 - 4 minutes videos without it freezing on me and I have to restart my whole computer. It just gets frustrating after a while.

I've tried manually uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version of Java, cleared ALL of my internet files, updated my NVIDIA GEFORCE thing, and scanned with SpyBot, AntiVir, AVG, and Avast, but nothing has worked. I'm assuming it's a virus, what should I do? I'm desperate.
