mdelk.exe, please need help!

Yesterday I downloaded a file from emule which has since caused me no end of trouble. I am normally so careful but I was in a rush and I guess I paid the price...

I've searched around online and found the odd bit on this mdelk.exe which an online virus scan that took most of the day found but couldn't get rid of. I can't run any other antivirus software and I can't restart in safe mode. I've tried a few solutions based on other people's experiences but to no luck.

I know where mdelk.exe is (in the folder 'WINDOWS\system32') but I don't know what it is doing to my computer and I don't know how to get rid of it.

I've never experienced a problem like this and don't know what I am doing. Please, please someone help!!!

If you have not resolved your problem, I will do my best to help. Please start with the required Kaspersky scan results:

Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:

Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.

Then post it here.
