Hi,
I reinstalled Windows xp. After that I started to download updates. My next update is Service Pack 2. Yesterday I got "Stop! Windows requires ...." message. I have done some research, trying to figure out how to get rid of this annoying pop up and I found this:

Go to start / run and type
services.msc
hit enter
Locate "Messenger" service, double click . Choose "Stop service" , then change startup to "Disabled" and apply.

I did that and I haven't seen that pop up since then. I'm wondering if I can download and install Service Pack 2 because I heard I shouldn't do that if I'm suspecting my computer is infected.

Thanks in advance,

m4ster
