Help?

So, my computer recently had a couple of things happen. First the wallpaper was overtaken by a black screen that said that my computer is infected with spyware and should be scanned and cleaned immediately. It gave a link to a list of cleaners for purchase. Also, a button popped up in the lower right corner of windows that said that the computer is infected. The link took me to Alfa Cleaner. When I downloaded and ran Spybot, one of the things that it had listed in red was AlfaCleaner. I removed all threats, yet the wallpaper still has the infected message. Is this a virus? What steps should I take? Since I already ran the Spybot program, should I just ignore the message?

By your description you have an infected computer, so no don't ignore it. :)
