View Full Version : infected zolb.downloader.vcd
It started out as smitfraud.C, zlob.Downloader.rid, and zlob.Downloader.vcd
zlob.Downloader.vcd reappears after I remove it with spybot, I'm also getting microsoft.Windows Security Center_disabled which I click to fix, yet it reappears after the next scan. Not sure if its related, but both my drives (cd writer and dvd rom are no longer functioning, they spin but that's it. Not even listed under my computer any longer. Both went down at the same time. Also my desktop wallpaper was a red warning image, now has gone solid white & icons are different. IE had 40+ pages with various warnings, yet I don't use IE (except for windows update). I've switched to Mozilla for the past few years. Not sure if any of that info is needed, but.....

Computer is very slow, seems that something is running in the background just not sure what. My desktop has been changed to solid white, icons have a black border. Both cdrw & dvd drives are not working, nor are they listed in my computer anymore. When I open IE I get a warning that downloader has attempted, but is now safe.....

Download ComboFix from Here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) or Here (http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe) to your Desktop.
In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download.
It must be saved directly to your desktop.
1. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan.
Click on this link (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html) to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.
Remember to re enable the protection again afterwards before connecting to the net
2. Close any open browsers and make sure you are disconnected from the net. Unplug the cable if need be before running combofix.
IF you have not already done so Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet when it starts.
If there is no internet connection when Combofix has completely finished then restart your computer to restore back the connections.
3. Now double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a report for you.
Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall or freeze.

Well it got the email that started this I think.
Download the OTMoveIt (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/oldtimer/OTMoveIt2.exe).
Save it to your desktop.
Please double-click OTMoveIt.exe to run it.
Press cleanup & it will search for and delete/uninstall all the tools we have used
to fix your problems and all their backup folders and then delete itself when you next reboot.

Seems to be running better, but it does take a while to reboot. Also those cdrw & dvd rom drives are still out. Could it be related?
