Hi
AVG Free identified & let me move to the Virus Vault Downloader.Swizzor.
It was found in C:\Program Files\Kodak\Kodak Easy Share software\bin\EasyShare.exe and C:\System Volume Information\_restore{6BFFA5CB-5063-473A-98FB-D3492BEBB1F73}RP999\A3876877.exe.
I cant access Kodak Easyshare folder now?
I left the virus in the Virus Vault until I know what to do with it - thought this may be why I cant access the Easyshare? Tried restoring to earlier point but this didnt not work & no changes were made - unable to restore to an earlier point.
I had Spybot S&D 1.4 but as per the 'how to instructions" I updated to 1.5 & ran it but found nothing.

I am running AVG Anti Virus AVG Rootkit AVG Antispy Spybot S&D Ad-aware Malwhere Spyware Blaster & Windows defender &Comodo Firewall so I have no idea how this virus got me!!

Um now Spybot wont run either? And there is only 1.5 now (think I may have deleted 1.4 last night by mistake) does this matter?
Have downloaded 1.5 again this morning but it still wont run.
Will leave everything alone now till I hear from someone.

First close any other programs you have running as this will require a reboot
Double click NoLop.exe to run it.
Now click the button labelled "Search and Destroy"
<<your computer will now be scanned for infected files>>
When scanning is finished you will be prompted to reboot only if infected, Click OK
Now click the "REBOOT" Button.
A Message should popup from NoLop. If not, double click the program again and it will finish Please Post the contents of C:\NoLop.log along with a fresh HijackThis log

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\Kims game stuff\GMVegasSetup-dm.exe but I get an error message saying it is being used by another person or program & to close any programs that might be using the file & try again?
I tried deleting teh whole folder but got the same error message.

After that, boot in safe mode and delete that file there.
Reboot and post back a fresh HijackThis log and tell me if it was successful now?

Hi - ran Norton removal tool ok then restarted in safe mnode but was still unable to delete that file/folder. I got the same error message about it being in use etc.

Please download the OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/oldtimer/OTMoveIt2.exe).
Save it to your desktop.
Please double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it. (Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
Copy the lines in the codebox below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

Return to OTMoveIt2, right click in the "Paste Standard List of Files/Folders to Move" window (under the light blue bar) and choose Paste.
Click the red Moveit! button.
Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar) to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it in your next reply.
Close OTMoveIt2
Note: If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes. In this case, after the reboot, open Notepad (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad), click File->Open, in the File Name box enter *.log and press the Enter key, navigate to the C:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles folder, and open the newest .log file present, and copy/paste the contents of that document back here in your next post.

All appears fine - I reloaded the Kodak software & that is working properly, SPybot is working now (updated version now too thanks) so hopefully all will be ok.
Computer is running fine & have run Spybot, AVG Anti Root, AVG Anti Virus, AVG Anti Spy, Malwhere, Windows Defender & Ad Aware 2007 with no major issues.
Any idea how this happened - I thought with everything I have running I should have been protected pretty well?

Now that you are clean, please follow these simple steps in order to keep your computer clean and secure:

Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. A malicious site could render Java content under older, vulnerable versions of Sun's software if the user has not removed them. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update: Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 4 (http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp) and save it to your desktop.
Scroll down to where it saysThe J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications.
Click the Download button to the right.
Select Windows on platform combobox and check the box that says:
Accept License Agreement. Click continue.
The page will refresh.
Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove Programs and remove all older versions of Java.
Check (highlight) any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u4-windows-i586-p.exe to install the newest version.
Next we remove all used tools.
Please download OTMoveIt2 (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/oldtimer/OTMoveIt2.exe) and save it to desktop.
Double-click OTMoveIt2.exe.
Click the CleanUp! button.
Select Yes when the "Begin cleanup Process?" prompt appears.
If you are prompted to Reboot during the cleanup, select Yes.
The tool will delete itself once it finishes, if not delete it by yourself.
Note: If you receive a warning from your firewall or other security programs regarding OTMoveIt2 attempting to contact the internet, please allow it to do so.
Disable and Enable System Restore. - If you are using Windows XP then you should disable and re-enable system restore to make sure there are no infected files found in a restore point.

Make your Internet Explorer more secure - This can be done by following these simple instructions:
From within Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu and then click on Options.
Click once on the Security tab
Click once on the Internet icon so it becomes highlighted.
Click once on the Custom Level button.
Change the Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt
Change the Download unsigned ActiveX controls to Disable
Change the Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Disable
Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt
Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt
Change the Navigate sub-frames across different domains to Prompt
When all these settings have been made, click on the OK button.
If it prompts you as to whether or not you want to save the settings, press the Yes button.
Next press the Apply button and then the OK to exit the Internet Properties page.
Update your AntiVirus Software - It is imperitive that you update your Antivirus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your antivirus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.
Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com (http://www.windowsupdate.com) regularly. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.
Install SpywareBlaster - SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs.

Update all these programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed regularly. Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released.
Follow this list and your potential for being infected again will reduce dramatically.
Here are some additional utilities that will enhance your safety
MVPS Hosts file (http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm) <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
Google Toolbar (http://toolbar.google.com/) <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.
Comodo BOCLEAN (http://www.comodo.com/boclean/boclean.html) <= Stop identity thieves from getting personal information. Instantly detects well over 1,000,000 unique, variant and repack malware in total. And it's free.
Winpatrol (http://www.winpatrol.com/) <= Download and install the free version of Winpatrol. a tutorial for this product is located here:

Phew - all done but.... when I restart the computer I receive a message;
Unhandled exception
aawservice.exe has unfortunately experienced an unhandled exception and was forced to close.
It says there was an unhandled excepton at 0x1005ED60 and asks if I want to send a crash report to Lavasoft or not?
Almost there.....all sdeems good apart from this new thing which started when I was rebooting tonight after following the instructions.

Everything seems to be going ok now - except Ad-Ware 07 so I have uninstalled it. Tried uninstalling & uninstalling but still having problems so I have decided to look for something to replace it - any suggestions?
I appreciate your patience & help with fixing my problems - its been a long process and you have been brilliant!!

No other issues now - all seems to be fine. Nothing picked up in any scans so it lokks like all is ok.
I gave up & uninstalled Ad-Aware 2007 as I couldnt get it running properly so I'll probably just stick to using Spybot & AVG - reckon that should be enough.
