Trojan. WIn 32 /Java script

I wish I had found this site earlier...as now I am in a complete panic... Win XP ME system, Norton Internet Security,

Recently after visiting a website (Jane Austin related) , my NIS "email scanning" feature began alerting me over and over again that an email is being scanned.. How ever I do not use any email client (like Outlook). A scan with NIS showed no threats.Neither did Spybot or ADAware An Online scan with Trend's Housecall at first revealed the following "java_bytever.ay" and java_bytever.de" I tried to remove it but the online house call started to hang and would not complete.

I looked the threat up online and followed the advice... disable system restore, run scan again, removed old version of Sun Java, installed new version, cleared the Java/deployment/cache folder where it was originally located. clear catch using ATF cleaner program. Deleted temp internet files.etc... ran house call again and it did not detect anyting anymore but I am still getting the email scanning notification. Occassionally I will get messages from Symantec regarding the Email proxy (whatever that is) and messages to various email address that could not be sent . I do not get these messages when not connected to the internet.
Symantec online scanner shows nothing either... what else can I try???

Please help as I have been up all night trying to figure out what is on my machine... what shoud I do next..... thank you in advance. smile.gif

Sorry had to reply... it would not let me post all of the Kapersky report.

Online Symantec shows nothing.... but saw that Kapersky is recommended alot in this forum so I ran it (standard) and it found a trojan in WIn 32 !!!! I cant find any info on this one..... please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am in a panic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! here is the log.... (hope I did it right)

If I duplicate an instruction you have completed, please understand that. The one thing I want you to do is turn System Restore back on if it is still off. We believe a bad System Restore point is better than no System Restore point in an emergency.

Kaspkersky is showing only one item:

That is a good thing there is only one, it is a bad thing that it is some kind of backdoor trojan.

not a lot of information, but SDFix removes it. If you should have any tool I ask you to use, delete it and download it new from the link I provide. I also believe, since this is a backdoor trojan, for your safety you should have this information:

Let's proceed like this, read and follow the directions carefully, the tool will not work unless you do.

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop
http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.exe

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
Choose your usual account.
Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log
