Yahoo Messenger Error

Windows Vista Home Premium (All avaliable updates installed)
Yahoo Messenger 9.0.0.922 (BETA) Traditional Chinese
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008

Ever since I installed the yahoo messenger, every time when I try to shut it down, an error message appears saying:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
R6025
-pure virtual function call

And then the system tells me that this program has stopped functioning, and must be terminated.

I have tried reinstalling the program, after cleaning out all folders associated with it left by the uninstallation, but with no success solving the problem(Restarted the computer before that).

I have also tried using the Process Monitor from Sysinternals to check on yahoo messenger, but the program freezes (with the whole system) after start with no solution from the author.

After that, I tried updating the Visual C++ Runtime Library to version 2008 with no affect on the problem.

Log is clean but Java should be updated.


Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update to the latest version...

Updating Java:

Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 4 (http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp).
Scroll down to where it says
The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications.

Click the
Download
button to the right.
Select Windows on platform combobox and check the box that says:
Accept License Agreement. Click continue.

The page will refresh.
Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u4-windows-i586-p.exe to install the newest version.


Since your main problem looks more like a software than malware related issue I recommend asking help to it at a more technical forum like PC Pitstop (http://forums.pcpitstop.com). :)
