Smitfraud?

Hi, lately my mother has been using P2P software, and it seems she's downloaded some trojans onto my computer. When I run Spybot, Smitfraud-C, along with another random infection, appear and although they're fixed, come back and must be fixed again on the next scan. I ran a Kapersky scan, but it seems I can't download the log file, due to internet security settings.

One or more of the identified infections is a backdoor trojan.

This allows hackers to remotely control your computer, steal critical system information and Download and Execute files

I would counsel you to disconnect this PC from the Internet immediately. If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.

Though the Trojan has been identified and can be killed, because of it's backdoor functionality, your PC is very likely compromised and there is no way to be sure your computer can ever again be trusted. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of Trojan, the best course of action would be a reformat and reinstall of the OS. combofix.exe (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) to your desktop.
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log & a fresh hjt log in your

Wow, sounds pretty bad...I don't do any financial work on my computer, but if it wouldn't be too much trouble, I'd like to just clean it.

Hi

Disable User Account Control (UAC) as instructed here (http://www.petri.co.il/disable_uac_in_windows_vista.htm) (method #4).

Then run ComboFix using these instructions:

1. Ensure that combofix.exe is on your desktop.
2. Make sure you save and close ALL open windows and programs that you are running in the taskbar as combofix will attempt to end all non-windows processes for a faster and more successful cleaning.

Click start > run > copy and paste:

"%userprofile%\desktop\combofix.exe" /killall

Try running ComboFix in safe mode (instructions (http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsafe.htm#03)). What are the specs of system? How much memory etc..
