Help with Trojan Virtumonde

Everytime that I run Spybot, it comes back and says that it has found Virutmonde. How do I get rid of it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It a tough infection to get rid of, some varieties are worse than others, let's try this first.

If you have any tools onboard I use, delete them and download then new from the links I provide. Read and follow the directions carefully or the tools will not work.

"Download VundoFix" to your Desktop

Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
When VundoFix opens, click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will attempt run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click
the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot. Vundofix.txt will be on the C:\

Post the Vundofix.txt and a new HJT log

Thanks for returning your information and the feedback, please follow the instructions in the posted order.

1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

3) Open Vundofix by Doubleclicking on it, then point your mouse to the white box above the buttons and right click, then click on Add More Files. When the next window opens, copy and paste the files into the boxes and click on Add File(s), then click on Close Window. Then click Remove Vundo.

4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

5) Right click Start > Explore and navigate to these files/folders and delete them if there.

6) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart and post the Vundofix report, a new HJT log and your comments.

Thanks for posting the log, I can live without the Vundofix report, it has not been showing the last item we added. Just as long as you got rid of it. I did need some comments about performance, the HJT log looks to be clean of malware:bigthumb:

Thanks for posting you HJT log and it appears to be clean of malware.

KASPERSKY ONLINE SCANNER REPORT

1) C:\VundoFix Backups\pxjgbjsa.dll.bad <<< delete that folder and contents

2) Empty the Recycle Bin on the Desktop

3) Purge System Restore points:
MANUAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SYSTEM RESTORE
Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Reboot

Turn ON System Restore,
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
