Hi, I'm a developer, and Spybot thinks my best harmless freeware is a virus called Smitfraud-C.
I'm using Spybot S&D version 1.5.1.19, and i found the new Spybot S&D tab in executables properties window.
Look at the attached Printscreen.

Why? i found a similar problem with this freeware and other anti-viruses such as NOD32 and Dr.web firefox extension.

I promise you that this is a completely harmless software!

If someone doesn't believe me, i can even send the source code to the developers of Spybot, and i'm sure that they will know what is the problem.

Thanks, el.il

hello,

please send the file in question to detections@spybot.info and refer to this thread. We will analyse the file and tell you why it has been identified as part of Smitfraud-C. If necessary we will adapt our detection rules to exclude your file.

In NOD32's Threatsense options, disable detection of potentially unwanted applications and potentially unsafe applications and your favorite freeware shouldn't be detected anymore.

It might also be worthwhile to submit the file to Eset for analysis.
