• Welcome Guest, to the Spybot Forums! It's 2025, and we just upgraded our forum software.

Today is Safer Internet Day, and with our new forum, you can finally use passkeys to login. That was about time!

Of course, you could ask if a forum is still useful, with so many social media networks out there where you might already have an account, and met a lot of users. You can now use your login from some of those networks to log in here. And by posting here, your question and data is stored on our servers and not automatically shared with a whole social media network.

We'll also start using the forum for small bits of information, announcements and more again.

Scanning Single Files

Is it possible to configure Spybot S&D to scan single files? I currently have ZA installed and when I right click on a folder/file it gives me the option of scanning it with AV software.

Is there any way to do this with Spybot S&D?

Hello,

Please make sure that you are running the latest version of Spybot - Search & Destroy - version 1.5.2.
To see which version number and/or updates of Spybot - Search & Destroy you are using please run Spybot-S&D and choose "Help" --> "About" in the menu bar.
There you can see which version you have and which updates are installed.

The function of deleting single files is hidden, so you have to activate it manually.

Please open the registry editor by:
(a) press windowskey + r then enter "regedit" (without quotation marks)
or
(b) click on "start" , then "run" and enter "regedit" (without quotation marks)

Then type: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\SDFiles.dll"
After that you'll get a notification that the command was successfull executed.

Now you can rightclick on a file and click on the tab SpybotS&D.
The single file will be scanned.

Best regards
