Hi

I screwed up something and due to that, I had to restore my computer 2 days back. I wanted to reinstall Spybot (after system restore), and now the computer is refusing to do it. When I try to uninstall, it says "file uninst000.dat not found. Cannot uninstall". So, how to succeed in removing it and getting Spybot away from the Add/Remove programs list? And, for some reason I can see TWO Spybot folders in the program files folder. I didn't install it twice.. I guess it's related to the system restore. Before using system restore I had removed the 1.5.1 version of Spybot and installed 1.5.2.

I had another problem with 1.5.2. I never succeeded in immunizing all the objects. Even if I chose "Undo", then "Immunize", still there was unprotected objects. After finding the tip here, it worked last time..

Hello,

1. In order to completely uninstall Spybot - Search & Destroy, please consider the following link:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/howto/uninstall.html

Spybot - Search & Destroy will uninstall from the Windows Add/Remove Software control panel without problems.

2. If you are not immunizing with full administrator rights, Spybot-S&D might not have enough permissions to fully immunize all user accounts.

If you are using Windows Vista, you should also read this FAQ entry about getting Administrator rights under Vista: www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/42.html

As a current solution you can try to "Undo" the Immunisation. Now the bad products are allowed.
Then "Immunize" again. This should solve the problem for now.

Some more information is available in our forum:
Immunize Problems (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?p=117162&posted=1#post117162)
Immunize (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=78)

Another thing though is that immunization only works properly while your browser is closed, since otherwise your browser will overwrite immunization from time to time from the settings it loaded when it was started.

The other problem I mentioned above is gone but the other one with immunization is still there  I tried the undo, then immunize but it doesn't help. There are still a bit more than 10,000 objects unprotected. They are IE related.. What makes me confused, I'm logged in as administrator but the problem is still there.

Hi

Those are the objects which still remain unprotected. They are at IE (32/64 bit).

I found following thread, what should I do now? Could those instructions help me? Those unprotected items just bother me so much. What makes this confusing, I'm always logged in as administrator on my computer..
